Aaron Rodgers passes Brett Favre on all-time TD list

Sun Sep 21 2:47pm ET
Field Level Media

Aaron Rodgers passed former Green Bay Packers teammate Brett Favre on the all-time passing touchdown list on Sunday, moving into sole possession of fourth place with 509 and counting.

The Steelers quarterback set the mark early in the second quarter of Pittsburgh's game with the New England Patriots, connecting with DK Metcalf from 12 yards out to give his team a 14-0 lead.

That TD moved him ahead of Favre, who wrapped up his career with 508.

Rodgers is 30 touchdowns behind No. 3 on the list, Peyton Manning (539), but the 41-year-old would have to do some serious work to catch the other leaders. Drew Brees sits in second with 571, while Tom Brady holds the career record with 649.

A 10-time Pro Bowler and four-time All Pro, Rodgers compiled the bulk of his touchdowns in a Super Bowl-winning, 18-year run with Green Bay. He played for the New York Jets in 2023-24 before joining the Steelers this offseason.

Terry McLaurin Sep 21 3:40pm ET
Terry McLaurin

Washington Commanders wide receiver Terry McLaurin (quad) exited during the third quarter of Sunday's Week 3 contest against the Las Vegas Raiders. He is officially questionable to return. At the time of his departure, he had caught three of four targets for 74 yards through the air, coming just inches short of a touchdown reception. While McLaurin's production may appear modest, he actually leads the Commanders in targets, receptions, and receiving yards. Washington has been able to run the ball effectively while leading Las Vegas by multiple touchdowns, resulting in a reduced passing workload for Marcus Mariota. Jaylin Lane, Chris Moore, and Luke McCaffrey should earn more targets behind Deebo Samuel Sr. until McLaurin can return.

Dyami Brown

Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Dyami Brown (shoulder) exited during the second quarter of Sunday's Week 3 contest against the Houston Texans. He suffered the injury on a reception near the goal line and is officially questionable to return. At the time of his departure, he had caught two of three targets for seven yards through the air. Brown's absence should lead to more opportunities for Tim Patrick and Parker Washington behind Brian Thomas Jr. and Travis Hunter.

Las Vegas Raiders tight end Michael Mayer (concussion) has been ruled out for the remainder of Sunday's Week 3 contest against the Washington Commanders. He finishes Sunday's game with four carries, 21 rushing yards, four kick returns, 88 return yards, and the fumble. Tahj Brooks will operate as Chase Brown's backup until Perine is healthy again.

Jaxon Smith-Njigba

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba (illness) is officially active for his team's Week 3 matchup against the New Orleans Saints. Smith-Njigba was a late addition to the team's injury report heading into Sunday due to an illness, but it appears he'll still be able to suit up. Smith-Njigba has 17 catches for 227 yards on 23 targets through his first two games of 2025. He may see a slightly reduced snap share if he's still under the weather. Still, Smith-Njigba is a must-start fantasy wide receiver in Week 3.

Zach Charbonnet

Seattle Seahawks running back Zach Charbonnet (foot) has officially been ruled out for his team's Week 3 matchup against the New Orleans Saints. Charbonnet is the team's leader in rush attempts (27) heading into Week 3. His absence should mean a significant increase in workload for Seattle running back Kenneth Walker III. Walker III has a touchdown and 125 rushing yards so far this season, 105 of which came in Week 2 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. With Charbonnet officially inactive, Walker III is a must-start fantasy running back in Week 3.

KeAndre Lambert-Smith Sep 21 2:50pm ET
KeAndre Lambert-Smith

Los Angeles Chargers rookie wide receiver Keandre Lambert-Smith is a healthy scratch for his team's Week 3 matchup with the Denver Broncos, per The Athletic's Daniel Popper. Lambert-Smith has not recorded an NFL catch and saw just one target across the Chargers' first two games of 2025. He's currently buried on the Chargers depth chart at wide receiver behind Ladd McConkey, Keenan Allen, Quentin Johnston, Derius Davis, and fellow rookie Tre' Harris. Lambert-Smith should remain off the radar of fantasy managers in redraft leagues.

Michael Mayer

Las Vegas Raiders tight end Michael Mayer (head) is being evaluated for a head injury and is questionable to return to his team's Week 2 matchup against the Washington Commanders. Mayer had one target in the game before getting injured. If he is unable to return, it could mean an increase in snaps for star Las Vegas tight end Brock Bowers. Third-string Raiders tight end Ian Thomas could also step into Mayer's role, particularly as an in-line blocker.

Jayden Daniels Sep 21 1:50pm ET
Jayden Daniels

Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels (knee) has a ligament sprain that prevented him from playing Sunday against the Las Vegas Raiders, according to FOX's Jay Glazer. The sophomore quarterback is able to move forward, but the injury has hampered his ability to move side-to-side, according to Glazer. In the meantime, Washington will start veteran backup Marcus Mariota while Daniels recovers.

Brock Purdy Sep 21 1:50pm ET
Brock Purdy

The San Francisco 49ers officially ruled out quarterback Brock Purdy (shoulder, toe) from playing in Week 3 against the Arizona Cardinals. The Iowa State product was initially feared to be out for upwards of a month, but made a late push to return earlier than expected. In any case, the 49ers will exercise caution and keep Purdy out for at least another week. Mac Jones will earn another start in his absence.

Jauan Jennings Sep 21 1:40pm ET
Jauan Jennings

With wide receiver Jauan Jennings (ankle) injured, the San Francisco 49ers likely will turn to new addition Kendrick Bourne as a starter, coach Kyle Shanahan said. The 49ers also will be playing without tight end George Kittle (hamstring) and quarterback Brock Purdy (shoulder, toe) in the game, giving Bourne some streaming appeal for managers who are in a bind without Jennings. In most formats, however, managers should likely look elsewhere for a starting wide receiver.

Joe Burrow Sep 21 1:30pm ET
Joe Burrow

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow (toe) has officially undergone surgery and is hopeful to make a return around mid-December, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. For now, Cincinnati will turn to backup Jake Browning in Burrow's absence and hope to stay afloat in time to make a run at the NFL playoffs. Burrow's injury was a tough one for fantasy managers, who drafted the QB to be an every-week starter and didn't even get two full games. A return could happen within fantasy playoffs, but managers are going to have to lean on their bench or a trade in the meantime.

Jaxon Smith-Njigba Sep 21 1:10pm ET
Jaxon Smith-Njigba

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba (illness) is expected to play Sunday against the New Orleans Saints, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. The star receiver was added to the injury report due to the ailment and is listed as questionable, but Schefter reported that the team wanted to see how he felt, hence the late addition. Now that it seems like Smith-Njigba will play, fantasy managers can rest assured that a WR1 candidate can be locked into starting lineups.
