Commanders QB Jayden Daniels (hamstring) questionable to return vs. Cowboys

Sun Oct 19 6:56pm ET
Field Level Media

Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels is questionable to return with a right hamstring injury he sustained early in the third quarter Sunday against the host Dallas Cowboys.

On first-and-10 at the Dallas 39, Daniels dropped back and was sacked by Shemar James, fumbling the ball while being pulled down with Dallas recovering. Daniels was slow to get up and limping as he left the field and went to the medical tent with 11:47 remaining in the quarter.

Daniels then went back into the locker room for further evaluation. He missed two games this season after sustaining a knee sprain during the Commanders' Week 2 loss at Green Bay.

Dallas took over at its own 45 and scored to extend its lead to 34-15. Marcus Mariota took over at quarterback on Washington's next possession, throwing an interception which Da'Ron Bland returned for a touchdown to make it 41-15.

Starts, Sits, Sleepers: Week 7

Player Notes
Justin Herbert Oct 19 9:00pm ET
Justin Herbert

Los Angeles Chargers rookie tight end Oronde Gadsden caught seven of his nine targets for 164 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's Week 7 loss to the Indianapolis Colts. The highlight of his game was a 53-yard catch on the second play of the third quarter, but his 15-yard touchdown was impressive, too. The rookie has broken out recently, catching 14 passes for 232 yards and a touchdown over his last two contests. He is the overall TE1 in PPR leagues over the last two weeks. Although that's a relatively small sample size to assess, Sunday's big game showed that Gadsden's sudden success is no fluke. He should continue to operate as a primary target for Justin Herbert, giving him high-end TE2 appeal with TE1 upside.

Kyler Murray Oct 19 9:00pm ET
Kyler Murray

Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray (foot) will be the team's starter when he is healthy enough to play, according to head coach Jonathan Gannon. The Cardinals are 0-2 in Murray's absence under Jacoby Brissett, but they've played close games against two tough teams, sparking at least a little bit of quarterback discussion. Furthermore, during that two-week span, Brissett has completed 65 percent of his passes for 599 yards, four touchdowns, one interception, and one lost fumble. The Cardinals have a Week 8 bye, with a very real chance for Murray to return to the lineup in Week 9 against the Dallas Cowboys. If he's active for that game, Murray would be a low-end QB1 given Dallas' tendency to engage in high-scoring shootouts.

Justin Herbert Oct 19 8:50pm ET
Justin Herbert

Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert completed 37 of his 55 pass attempts for 420 yards, three touchdowns, and two interceptions during Sunday's Week 7 loss against the Indianapolis Colts. He also took three sacks and led the team with 31 rushing yards. Herbert turned in his best fantasy performance of the season thanks to his extremely high yardage total and three touchdowns, but the two picks -- plus Los Angeles' struggles running the football and Indianapolis' strong offense -- made it tough for the Bolts to overcome an early deficit. Herbert remains a mid-range QB1 in fantasy football, though, and he should continue to be started heading into Week 8 against the Minnesota Vikings.

Jonathan Taylor Oct 19 8:30pm ET
Jonathan Taylor

Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor carried the ball 16 times for 94 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns during Sunday's Week 7 win over the Los Angeles Chargers. He also caught all three of his targets for an additional 38 receiving yards. Taylor turned in his best fantasy performance of the season in PPR leagues, shrinking the gap between him and this year's overall RB1, Christian McCaffrey. The 26-year-old has scored three touchdowns in three different games this season, totaling 10 scores over his last five contests. Taylor should continue to feast next week against a Titans defense that has allowed the third-most fantasy points to running backs and just surrendered 88 yards and a touchdown to Rhamondre Stevenson. He's in the mix to be next week's overall RB1.

Jaxson Dart Oct 19 8:30pm ET
Jaxson Dart

New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart completed 15 of his 33 pass attempts for 283 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception during Sunday's Week 7 loss against the Denver Broncos. He also rushed for 11 yards and an additional touchdown on the ground. This was Dart's first career four-touchdown game -- he had previously never scored more than twice -- but it wasn't enough as the Broncos scored 33 points in the fourth quarter alone, taking down New York with a field goal as time expired. Dart, a rookie, played solid in the defeat, especially considering how effective Denver's defense has been this year. The loss was unfortunate, but from a fantasy perspective, 283 passing yards and four total touchdowns are nothing to complain about. He'll remain in the low-end QB1 conversation for Week 8 against the Philadelphia Eagles. In his last outing against Philly, he had 195 passing yards, 58 rushing yards, two total touchdowns, and zero turnovers.

Travis Hunter Oct 19 8:11pm ET
Travis Hunter

Dynasty | Jags rookie wide receiver Travis Hunter had eight catches on 14 targets for 101 yards and a touchdown in a loss to the Rams. Dynasty Analysis: Hunter posted career highs across the board as it seems as if the Jaguars made a concerted effort to get him the ball this week. Of course, it didn't hurt Hunter's chances when they fell behind early and forced Trevor Lawrence to throw the ball nearly 50 times. This is a good building block for Hunter, whose dynasty value and rookie ranking will rise this week.

Rashee Rice Oct 19 8:10pm ET
Rashee Rice

Dynasty | Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice had seven catches for 42 yards and two touchdowns in a win against the Raiders. Dynasty Analysis: This was Rice's first game back after missing 22 contests with a torn ACL and serving a suspension. It was clearly a monster return for Rice, who looks the part of a WR1 moving forward yet again. While Patrick Mahomes seems content spreading the ball around, it's hard to look at Rice and think he's not the #1 option in the passing game moving forward. Savvy dynasty managers bought on Rice a long time ago and those who didn't are likely kicking themselves.

Ashton Jeanty Oct 19 8:10pm ET
Ashton Jeanty

Dynasty | Raiders running back Ashton Jeanty had 21 rushing yards, one catch and 13 receiving yards in a loss to the Chiefs. Dynasty Analysis: The Raiders had 95 net yards on offense on the day. Ninety. Five. This was hardly Jeanty's fault as he only had seven touches on the day. The Raiders are consistently finding themselves in negative game scripts and it's been a mess all season. With Geno Smith completely ineffective, defenses are teeing off on Jeanty and the Raiders haven't been able to counter. This is quickly looking like a bit of a lost season for Jeanty, who needs an infusion of talent and perhaps a different scheme to truly break out. His ranking is slipping a little but most realize some of this isn't his fault.

Patrick Mahomes Oct 19 8:10pm ET
Patrick Mahomes

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes completed 26 of his 35 pass attempts for 286 yards, three touchdowns, and zero interceptions during Sunday's Week 7 win over the Las Vegas Raiders. He also rushed for 28 yards and took just one sack. Mahomes looked terrific in the commanding 31-0 divisional victory, showcasing an ability to connect with several of his receivers. Most notably, he found Rashee Rice for seven completions and two touchdowns in the receiver's return from a six-game suspension. With one more weapon at his disposal, Mahomes has the Chiefs well-positioned to make a push for the AFC West title and No. 1 seed in the conference. From a fantasy perspective, he continues to be a mid-to-high QB1.

Bo Nix Oct 19 8:10pm ET
Bo Nix

Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix completed 27 of his 50 pass attempts for 279 yards, two passing touchdowns, and zero interceptions during Sunday's Week 7 win over the New York Giants. He also added 49 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns. The Broncos couldn't get anything going for most of this game as they were held scoreless through three quarters. However, fueled by Nix's four scores, the Broncos marched back in the fourth quarter, scored 33 points, and pulled off an improbable 33-32 win at the buzzer. Nix ultimately had his best fantasy performance of the season, moving into low-end QB1 territory going forward. He should be started in most leagues ahead of a potential Week 8 shootout against the Dallas Cowboys.

From RotoBaller

Chris Olave Oct 19 8:10pm ET
Chris Olave

Dynasty | Saints wide receiver Chris Olave had five catches for 98 yards and two touchdowns in a loss to the Bears. Dynasty Analysis: The Saints haven't played well but you can hardly blame Olave, who is vying for Comeback Player of the Year honors. Spencer Rattler is limiting the offense but Olave has found a way to post a 44/440/3 line through seven weeks. While his ceiling is limited, Olave is finding a way to post high floors every week. His ADP is rising, despite his injury risk.

Kyle Monangai Oct 19 8:09pm ET
Kyle Monangai

Dynasty | Bears running back Kyle Monangai had 81 rushing yards, two catches, 13 receiving yards and a touchdown in a win against the Saints. Dynasty Analysis: While one might look at the box score and figure Monangai posted these numbers in garbage time, it really wasn't the case. He was strong all day and created a solid "1B" to the "1A" of D'Andre Swift. Monangai is undoubtedly owned in your dynasty league but it's certainly worth checking as he's a player clearly on the rise.

Tyrod Taylor Oct 19 7:53pm ET
Tyrod Taylor

New York Jets QB Tyrod Taylor completed 10-of-22 passes for 126 yards, no touchdowns and two interceptions in Week 7 against the Carolina Panthers, while running three times for 11 yards, coming in during the second half for the ineffective QB Justin Fields.

Fantasy Spin: Taylor had a terrible time filling in, but at least the team moved through the air. With a full week of preparation with the starters, perhaps the results will be different if he moves into a starting role. Whether it is Fields or Taylor under center for Gang Green, neither should be used as anything more than a low-end QB2 in most fantasy leagues at this point.

Jayden Daniels Oct 19 7:40pm ET
Jayden Daniels

Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels (hamstring) has been ruled out for the remainder of Sunday's Week 7 contest against the Dallas Cowboys. He initially exited during the third quarter and was listed as questionable before being downgraded to out. The former No. 2 pick was seen walking to the locker room. While doing so, he gave a thumbs-up to the crowd. Ultimately, though, the team has decided that he won't be able to return. It's possible that the score factored into this decision, as Washington has consistently been trailing by three possessions. Daniels finishes the game having completed 12 of 22 passes for 156 yards, one touchdown, and zero interceptions. He also rushed for 35 yards. Marcus Mariota will finish the game as the Commanders' quarterback.

From RotoBaller

Marcus Mariota Oct 19 7:23pm ET
Marcus Mariota

Washington Commanders QB Jayden Daniels (hamstring) left the Week 7 game against the Dallas Cowboys in the second half, and he will not return due to a hamstring injury. QB Marcus Mariota will finish up the game. Daniels finished 12-of-22 for 156 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions, while running eight times for 35 yards and a TD.

Fantasy Spin: Daniels was nicked up earlier in the season already, and now he is on the shelf again. It's part of the deal with mobile quarterbacks, as sometimes they're subject to a few more nicks and bruises, sometimes even more serious. Sadly, he was hurt here when twisted around awkwardly in the pocket, pulling a hammy. Fantasy managers are back to holding their breath again. Perhaps he didn't return as a precaution, as the game was out of hand at the time. When his status is updated by the coaching staff, we'll pass it along.

Chuba Hubbard Oct 19 7:13pm ET
Chuba Hubbard

Dynasty | Panthers running back Chuba Hubbard returned from injury to post 31 rushing yards, two catches, and 24 receiving yards in a win against the Jets. Dynasty Analysis: More importantly, Hubbard started the game over the red-hot Rico Dowdle. Hubbard didn't do nearly as much as Dowdle but the Panthers seemed content to just rotate their backs on every series. It's a great opportunity for Carolina to keep their runners fresh but this could create a nightmare in fantasy leagues. Hubbard is looking like a flex player at this point.

From Dynasty League Fantasy

Tyrod Taylor Oct 19 7:13pm ET
Tyrod Taylor

Dynasty | Jets quarterback Justin Fields completed 6-of-12 passes for 46 yards, while adding 22 rushing yards before being benched in favor of Tyrod Taylor. Dynasty Analysis: Fields had a great opportunity to prove he belongs as a starting quarterback in the NFL this year and has simply failed miserably. Today was much of the same from Fields who simply struggles to throw a football with any kind of accuracy. The Jets are now 0-7 in a lost season and may turn to Tyrod Taylor (who was also awful) in the hopes of simply winning a game. Regardless, it looks like the Jets could be a team with a top-5 draft pick and again looking for that elusive franchise quarterback. As for Fields, his dynasty value is just about sunk.

From Dynasty League Fantasy

Breece Hall Oct 19 7:13pm ET
Breece Hall

Dynasty | Jets running back Breece Hall had 38 rushing yards, two catches and 14 receiving yards in a loss to the Panthers. Dynasty Analysis: The Jets are a mess and Hall is in the midst of a simply terrible season as a result. He's gone from a potential RB1 to hardly playable in dynasty leagues at this point. He needs to be traded prior to the deadline to salvage any kind of return this season and the Jets have to be considering it at this point. Hall is likely going to be playing elsewhere next season, so dynasty managers could have a buy low opportunity at the moment.

From Dynasty League Fantasy

Matthew Stafford Oct 19 7:13pm ET
Matthew Stafford

Dynasty | Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford completed 21-of-33 passes for 182 yards with five touchdowns and no interceptions in a blowout win over Jacksonville. Dynasty Analysis: This was Stafford's first five-touchdown game since 2016 and first ever with the Rams. It inexplicably came with Puka Nacua out for the week but Stafford hit ten different receivers in what can only be described as a masterpiece. His dynasty value really can't go up at any point this year as any season can be his last, but he remains an easy QB1 to start every week.

From Dynasty League Fantasy

Davante Adams Oct 19 7:13pm ET
Davante Adams

Dynasty | Rams wide receiver Davante Adams had five catches for 35 yards and three touchdowns in a win against the Jags. Dynasty Analysis: Adams may not have the same kind of separation ability he once possessed but he's still a red zone monster and now has six touchdowns in his first seven games as a Ram. With Puka Nacua on the shelf, Adams was predictably the go-to receiver when it counted and while his target share wasn't anything to write home about (8 on the day), he certainly made the most of what came his way. He'll be a WR2 when Nacua is back after the bye and remains a solid buy candidate for a contending team.
