Jrod Almost Pulled off Upset Win

What an exciting first week!  Fresh off of the awesome draft, it was now time to put our teams to action.  How did you all?  It was a pretty good scoring week for a week 1.  Most teams were able to topple the century mark.  Let's dive in to some of the highlights.

The biggest game of the weekend came down to an unsuspecting matchup.  Its a new draft each year, but somehow Janke comes out with one of the best teams each year.  This year was no exception as Spankyz put up a league high 148 points. It may be deducted, even at this early level, that Spankyz once again may be a formidable foe to the league. But, it was the Monday night action that had people looking at the scoreboard, with Fish Ticklers making an unexpected run at a week one win.  With only the Bears Defense to battle with, the 21 point lead looked well in hand.  But the Bears D, like they do, ran back an interception for a score that all of a sudden make Jrod's Fish Ticklers with a chance at a W.  It needed either another big play, or needed to styme the Vikings offense, which worked well for the first 3 quarters.  But a late 4th quarter run by JJ McCarthy and the Vikes offense, made the game very much in doubt, and suspense as the game ended and the wait for the points to be tallied up for Bears Defensive accomplishments.  What happened was a 20 point effort for the Bears and a narrow 148-147 win for Spankyz.  Fish Ticklers were able to get one win for their efforts tho beating Cheeseheads handily so all was not lost.

But alas, it wasn't the only one point victory, as Jamodaddy also was able to record an exciting victory by taking out Molsack 82-81.  Scoreboard watching is the best and most suspenseful in a close matchup like this, as Cam got to celebrate the week one win as well.  The newly names Penix Envy, (old Carlos) was the only team to win 2 games last week beating JH Express and Injured Reserves almost by the same scores... 129-90 and 91.  Though Dane now is all alone in first place after week 1, not a word was uttered.  A bit of a suprise in itself.

Rookie Mathew Shear and his Juice squad was able to win his first game ever. It was an impresseive 123-94 win over the A-Dawgs.  It must be some relief for the young rookie to get off to a good start as the only new team in the league this year.

Defending champ 85 Bears was not off to a hot start as they lost to the boastful Brew Crew 84-77. But, its only week 1.

Lots of participants this year in our side pools!  Survivor pool has 12 and pickems have 13.  Survivior pool just a quick note, every team got their picks right, so no one lost any ground, very impressive!  We are off to week 2 now!
