Mike Tops the Division in record and complements

Hey what an exciting week!  We had some guarantees made, we had a side bet made and cashed in, and we still have some super tight competitive races going on.  We have 8 teams over .500 another 3 teams at .500 and two more teams who can get to .500 this week. On the flip side we do have a small handful of teams who are really struggling.  Sea-Chickens still trying to unbury themselves with the huge injuries they suffered, Molsack and Farm Cats still trying to figure out the winning combination, and the tough luck Norm Buds, who just flat out have been unlucky this year.  No team has had more points scored against them than Norm. He has had 1361 points scored against his team.  The next closest is the Brew Crew at 1222 and no other team is even over 1200. Did someone put a curse on Norm at the draft. Norm has scored 70 more points than Dane and 80 more points than Cam, but they have 7 and 8 wins respectivly while Norm just has 1. I cant think of a time the scoring dispairigly has been greater on any team, perhaps in the history of our league.  But, I digress....

Lets get to the guarantees, which the Commish enjoys very much!!  The Commisioners Office pushes for more guarantees to be made, even if they don't happen.  Big Les guaranteed his team to be the one to beat this year at the draft.  Was that guarantee Scooner influenced?  Perhaps, but so far the Brew Crew has lived up to the claims, going 8-2 and atop their division standings. This week a banged up Formally Carlos, Formally Penix Envy, Formally Manwhores and soon to be Formally Smelly Darts team predicted two wins behind the Croskey-Merritt-Haskins connection. The guarantee was to beat both Farm Cats AND Spankyz (as we know just guaranteeing a win over Farm Cats isn't really much of a boast currently).  Well, as per the message board, Dane talked about his dangling of Croskey-Merritt as trade bait out there and probably was wise to hang on to the young rookie.  Though he has had the yippes a bit with hanging onto the ball, the Commaders ball carrier has looked good the past few weeks and has emerged as their primary ball carrier. But, after a 28 point outburst the week before, the rookie could only muster 5 points this last week.  And the roll of the dice did not benefit Dane with Haskins, Hassan Haskins.  He was one of two young running backs that could possibly take over in the backfield for Chargers, the other was Kimani Vidal who the Sea-Chickens picked up.  Well Haskins only had 2 points while Vidal went off for 24 points and over 120 yards rushing for a much needed shot in the arm to Jimmie Jensens team.  So how did the guarantee go?  Well, Dane was able to beat the Farm Cats at least 83-72, but everyone would had beaten the Farm Cats last week as they were low scorers.

The other fun little twist to last week was there was a little side bet.  Did anyone else realize that a Mr. Mike Peters broke his decade long silence on the message board?  Well a 110-104 win by Injured Reserves over Cheeseheads led to some interesting reading on the chat line last week.  Tori proclaiming how great Mike is, how he is a man amongst boys in the league, how she would love to be at Mikes every beckoned call.  Well, there was a little side bet that the loser had to write a glowing review of the other winner.  Which even led to Mike responding in a rare correspondence on the board.  If you haven't read it yet, go check it out as I don't want to spoil more than I already have in reporting.

With Mikeys big wins he is now 8-2 and tied atop the Big Penix Division with Spankyz now.  Could this be the year for Mikey?? Fish Ticklers and Someone Just Darted, are just one game back.  Brew Crew continues to lead in the Kelly Champion Division at 9-2 but the surprising Jamodaddys are just half game back at 8-2, with the red hot 85 Bears at 7-4 and Cheeseheads wounded from their losses, their admission to Mikes greatness and hotness now at 6-4.

Big Week, as we enter Week 7.  Bye weeks are still going, with next week a huge bye week for alot of teams which will send teams in the league scrambling to fill holes.
