We've got ourselves a real horserace.
Three weeks left in the 2025 AWFFL schedule and things are coming down to the wire. Let’s take a look at who’s in the running.
MIKINGS (8-3): Mike liked his team coming out of the draft and has been adding to it all season long, giving up 1st, 3rd, and 5th round picks to upgrade the roster. This Philly (fillie, get it?) closes with Brent, Jeff and Hank who are no pushovers. Let’s see if this is the year Mike can close it out.
RORYOPOLIS (8-3): Rory definitely has the horsepower, namely Bijan and CMC, to go the distance. But may be stumbling down the stretch now with injuries to Drake London and Sam LaPorta. And is Drake Maye the guy to guide this team to the winners circle? Can pull back on the reins a little with Rob and 2 Chad matchups left and get healthy for the playoffs.
LOU ORLEANS (8-3): The sentimental favorite broke fast out of the gate and was the early leader, but this colt is finding out it’s a long race and not a sprint. Had to switch jockeys halfway thru the race (goodbye Stroud and Murray, hello Darnold and Love.) Has the division all but wrapped up but the first-round bye is still in play. 2 games against Rob and 1 against Chad to close it out.
COMMANDOVICHS (7-4): Charging hard on the outside is Matt. Stud WR’s have kept this team in the race and has added Josh Allen for the finishing kick. I don’t think he’ll score 77 every week but that is what a difference-maker looks like! In a tight pack with Rory and Bo for the division crown AND has 2 with Bo and 1 with Hank left.
SEAHANKS (7-4): Hank was slow at the start but recovered quickly and caught up to the leaders by the halfway mark. Jonathan Taylor has been the cream of the crop but RB points can be more fickle than other positions. Can Bucky Irving get healthy and be the missing piece? Has a get-right game with Doug this week before getting Matt and Mike to close out the schedule.
BRONCBOS (7-4): Stayed in the race by beating Hank last week but the stretch run doesn’t get any easier with 2 against Matt and 1 against Brent. The Josh Jacobs injury is a mystery and JJ McCarthy is killing Justin Jefferson’s fantasy value. If he stumbles, both Rob and Brent are hanging around at 5-6 and would be glad to knock out any of these 7-4 teams.
