Atlanta Falcons head coach Raheem Morris said on Wednesday that quarterback Michael Penix Jr. (knee) had successful surgery on his knee on Tuesday, according to D. Orlando Ledbetter of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Penix had full reconstructive surgery to fix a partially torn ACL in his left knee, which will keep him out for the rest of this season and possibly for the start of the 2026 season next fall. The 25-year-old second-year signal-caller is facing a nine-month recovery, which will force Atlanta to rethink its long-term plan at the QB position this offseason. Washington Commanders head coach Dan Quinn said on Wednesday that wide receiver Terry McLaurin (quadriceps) will practice this week, according to Tashan Reed of The Athletic. McLaurin looks to have made some progress coming out of the team's bye week and could make his return on Sunday Night Football versus the Denver Broncos in Week 13. The 30-year-old's status for this week will depend on how much he can do in practice, though. Scary Terry has played in only four games in 2025 due to his quad injury, but he could return just in time for the fantasy football playoffs in several weeks.
