Cam Akers Jun 9 8:40pm CT
    Cam Akers

Free-agent running back Cam Akers will try out for the New Orleans Saints this week during their mandatory minicamp, a league source tells Nick Underhill. Akers spent last year with the Houston Texans and Minnesota Vikings, combining for 104 carries for 444 rushing yards and two touchdowns while adding 14 receptions on 18 targets for 68 receiving yards and three additional TDs. The 25-year-old former second-rounder (52nd overall) by the Los Angeles Rams in 2020 out of Florida State would serve in a depth role for the Saints if he were to impress them this week and sign a contract for 2025. Alvin Kamara is still the team's workhorse back under new head coach Kellen Moore, with former third-rounder Kendre Miller and rookie sixth-rounder Devin Neal expected to compete for the RB2 role at training camp this summer. Akers has torn his Achilles twice and remains off the fantasy radar for now.

James Cook Jun 9 8:30pm CT
    James Cook

Buffalo Bills running back James Cook is currently in Buffalo and will attend mandatory minicamp this week, a source tells the Circling the Wagons Podcast. Cook and the Bills aren't close to agreeing to a contract extension, which led to the belief that the 25-year-old wouldn't show up for minicamp this week. However, Cook may have reconsidered so that he won't be fined. He didn't show up for voluntary organized team activities in April and May as he heads into the final year of his current contract. The two-time Pro Bowler had his second straight 1,000-yard rushing season and also led the NFL with 16 rushing touchdowns in 16 regular-season starts in 2024, adding 32 catches for 258 yards and two more TDs. Fantasy managers need to expect regression in the TD department. Remember, he had only two scores on the ground in each of 2022 and 2023. RotoBaller has Cook ranked as the RB13 going into 2025.

Josh Reynolds Jun 9 7:13pm CT
    Josh Reynolds

New York Jets WR Allen Lazard and WR Josh Reynolds are believed to be the two leading candidates for the No.2 receiver job entering training camp, in the opinion of ESPN.com's Rich Cimini.

Fantasy Spin: Fantasy players can monitor the situation to see which receiver will win the starting job. Lazard and Reynolds probably will see a handful of targets each game but neither likely will be strong fantasy options.

    From TheHuddle

Anthony Richardson Jun 9 6:30pm CT
    Anthony Richardson

SI.com's Albert Breer reports that Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson (shoulder), who was shut down on the second day of organized team activities last week, will seek another opinion on his troublesome right shoulder with Dr. Neal ElAttrache this week. ElAttrache is the one who did Richardson's AC-joint surgery in 2023. The Colts said that the 23-year-old former first-rounder's shoulder was structurally sound, but the fact that he's visiting with the same doctor that did his surgery isn't good news, and he'll also miss mandatory minicamp this week. There's currently no timetable for Richardson's return, and it's fair to wonder if he'll even be ready for the start of training camp at the end of July. Richardson could still be ready for Week 1 this fall, but right now, his injury increases the chances that Daniel Jones will open the 2025 season as Indy's starting QB.

Nick Chubb Jun 9 6:00pm CT
    Nick Chubb

The Houston Texans officially signed free-agent running back Nick Chubb to a one-year, $2.5 million deal on Monday that could be worth up to $5 million, sources tell NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Chubb passed a physical after a gruesome left-knee injury in 2023 that required multiple surgeries. The former Cleveland Browns Pro Bowler was one of the most powerful backs in the league before his injury, as he went for a career-high 1,525 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns on 302 carries in 2022. He managed to play in just eight games last year, though, and wasn't the same, averaging a career-low 3.3 yards per carry with 332 rushing yards and three scores on 102 rushing attempts. Chubb also fractured his left foot in Week 15 last year, so he may never be the same explosive back he once was. Now in Houston, he'll be competing with Dameon Pierce for RB2 duties behind starter Joe Mixon.

Nick Chubb Jun 9 5:43pm CT
    Nick Chubb

Free-agent RB Nick Chubb (Browns) signed a one-year contract with the Houston Texans Monday, June 9, worth $2.5 million, according to sources. The deal could be worth as much as $5 million with incentives.

Fantasy Spin: Chubb should be the top candidate for the backup running back job behind Joe Mixon. Mixon has been dealing with an injury this offseason but should be ready for the start of the regular season, so Chubb probably will see a limited workload. He likely can be avoided in fantasy leagues unless Mixon suffers an injury during the season.

    From TheHuddle

DeAndre Hopkins Jun 9 5:33pm CT
    DeAndre Hopkins

Baltimore Ravens WR Zay Flowers and WR DeAndre Hopkins were not present for the voluntary workout Monday, June 9.

Fantasy Spin: Both receivers have participated in some of the other workouts and should be full participants in the mandatory minicamp. Flowers has become the main receiver for the Ravens and should be a weekly starting option in all fantasy leagues, while Hopkins may only be a late round pick in some deeper leagues.

    From TheHuddle

Chidobe Awuzie Jun 9 5:30pm CT
    Chidobe Awuzie

Baltimore Ravens cornerback Chidobe Awuzie (ankle) suffered what appeared to be an ankle injury in Monday's voluntary organized team activities, but 105.7 The Fan's Courdell Woodland doesn't think the injury is very serious. It's unclear if Awuzie will be available now for mandatory minicamp this month, but the 30-year-old veteran should be good for training camp at the end of July as he heads into his first season in Baltimore. In just eight games (seven starts) for the Tennessee Titans last year, Awuzie had 26 tackles (17 solo), an interception, four pass breakups and a forced fumble. The former second-rounder (60th overall) by the Dallas Cowboys in 2017 out of Colorado will give the Ravens secondary depth in 2025, but he can be ignored in IDP fantasy drafts.

    From RotoBaller

Chris Godwin Jun 9 5:20pm CT
    Chris Godwin

Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles said the team is hopeful that wide receiver Chris Godwin (ankle) will be ready for Week 1 of the 2025 regular season this fall after dislocating his ankle last year. Bowles said that Godwin has been working hard ahead of this week's mandatory minicamp. The 29-year-old was on his way to a career year and had five touchdowns in seven games before suffering a season-ending injury in 2024. He took less money to return to Tampa in the offseason on a three-year, $66 million deal in March. With offensive coordinator Liam Coen now out of town and Godwin coming off a serious ankle injury, fantasy managers have plenty of reasons to be skeptical that he'll look as good as he did before his injury last year. Perhaps the biggest threat to Godwin's workload in 2025 is rookie first-round wideout Emeka Egbuka.

    From RotoBaller

Jaylen Wright Jun 9 5:10pm CT
    Jaylen Wright

Miami Dolphins running back Jaylen Wright worked hard on his body in the offseason after fading down the stretch in his rookie season in 2024 with just nine carries for six yards in the final five games. "Just working hard in the offseason, working on my body," Wright said. "I probably added about, probably six pounds. I lost a lot of body fat. I gained a lot of muscle. That's why it might look like I'm a little bigger, but yeah, just off-season, working hard, focusing on my body, getting prepared for the season, so." The 22-year-old was taken in the fourth round (120th overall) last year out of Tennessee but had a limited role down the stretch behind De'Von Achane and Raheem Mostert, finishing with 249 rushing yards and no touchdowns on 68 total carries in 15 games (one start). With Mostert out of town, Wright has a clear path to RB2 duties, and his big-play abilities make him a nice handcuff option to Achane.

    From RotoBaller

Lamar Jackson Jun 9 5:03pm CT
    Lamar Jackson

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson was not present for the voluntary workout Monday, June 9.

Fantasy Spin: Jackson likely is working out on his own and should be on the field for the mandatory minicamp. He was one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL this past season and will be a weekly starting option in all leagues again in 2025.

    From TheHuddle

Stefon Diggs Jun 9 4:43pm CT
    Stefon Diggs

New England Patriots WR Stefon Diggs (knee) was limited to individual drills during practice Monday, June 9.

Fantasy Spin: Fantasy players will need to monitor Diggs during training camp to see if he will be ready for the start of the 2025 regular season. He will be the top receiver for the Patriots when he is ready to play and can be a No. 3 or No. 4 receiver in fantasy leagues.

    From TheHuddle

Jaire Alexander Jun 9 4:23pm CT
    Jaire Alexander

Free-agent CB Jaire Alexander (Packers) was the subject of trade talks between the Buffalo Bills and the Green Bay Packers before the Packers decided to release Alexander, according to sources.

    From TheHuddle

Kirk Cousins Jun 9 3:13pm CT
    Kirk Cousins

Atlanta Falcons QB Kirk Cousins is expected to show up for mandatory minicamp on Tuesday, June 10. Cousins attended team workouts in April but was not present for voluntary OTAs in May.

Fantasy Spin: Cousins stands to lose a lot of money by not showing up for mandatory minicamp, so this should not come as a surprise to anyone. While it remains possible that Cousins will remain a backup all season, new starter Michael Penix Jr.'s durability remains a question mark. Additionally, Cousins figures to be the first quarterback that teams will inquire about if their starter gets hurt during the preseason or early part of the regular season.

    From TheHuddle

Nick Chubb Jun 9 3:03pm CT
    Nick Chubb

Free-agent RB Nick Chubb (Browns) reportedly passed his physical with the Houston Texans on Monday, June 9, which was reportedly the only potential obstacle keeping him from signing with the team.

Fantasy Spin: An official announcement of Chubb signing a one-year contract with the Texans should be happening shortly. It remains to be seen what Houston has in mind for Chubb, who reportedly turned down more lucrative offers to agree to terms on an incentive-laden contract with Houston, but it seems reasonable to believe Chubb will be working in tandem with Joe Mixon when both men are healthy. While Chubb is now a strong candidate to be flex-worthy in 2025, there is almost no chance Mixon comes close to handling the 20 touches per game he averaged over 14 outings last year.

    From TheHuddle

Marcus Harris Jun 9 2:10pm CT
    Marcus Harris

The Buffalo Bills have signed free agent defensive lineman Marcus Harris to an undisclosed contract. Maddy Glab of BuffaloBills.com reported the news. Defensive tackle Devin Brandt-Epps was released in a corresponding move. Harris was drafted by the Houston Texans in the seventh round of the 2024 draft, but spent last season on the New England Patriots' practice squad. In five seasons of college ball (Auburn, Kansas), he notched 126 tackles (74 solo), 11.5 sacks, and 31.5 tackles for loss (47 games). The 24-year-old joins a revamped Bills' defensive front alongside former Pittsburgh Steelers starter Larry Ogunjobi, Casey Rogers, and second- and fourth-round rookies TJ Sanders and Deone Walker. Harris will compete for a spot on the roster.

Germaine Pratt Jun 9 1:40pm CT
    Germaine Pratt

ESPN's Ben Baby reports that the Cincinnati Bengals are releasing linebacker Germaine Pratt ahead of the team's mandatory minicamp on Tuesday. Cincinnati drafted Pratt with the ninth pick in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft, and he's appeared in 15 or more games in each of his six seasons, including 34 straight starts over the previous two. The 29-year-old tallied a career-high -- and team-leading -- 143 tackles (80 solo) in 2024, with two picks, two forced fumbles, and two recovered fumbles. Pratt formally requested a trade back in February, but after the Bengals could not find a suitable partner, they decided to cut ties with him. It seems favorable that he'll draw interest from another linebacker-needy organization.

    From RotoBaller

Kirk Cousins Jun 9 1:30pm CT
    Kirk Cousins

The Athletic's Dianna Russini reports that the Atlanta Falcons expect quarterback Kirk Cousins to be present for the team's mandatory minicamp on Tuesday. Cousins was absent for the Falcons' voluntary OTAs in late May. Russini also noted that the 36-year-old still prefers "to be traded to a team where he could start." He'll enter 2025 as a backup for the first time since 2014, playing second fiddle to second-year signal-caller Michael Penix Jr. The list of teams that might trade for him is dwindling with the Pittsburgh Steelers' recent acquisition of veteran QB Aaron Rodgers, leaving the Cleveland Browns and Minnesota Vikings as the only likely candidates. Still, Cousins' contract poses an issue, forcing Atlanta to absorb a sizable amount. He projects to be a high-end backup as of now and wouldn't be worth selecting in drafts later this summer until that changes.

Malachi Corley Jun 9 12:00pm CT
    Malachi Corley

New York Jets second-year wide receiver Malachi Corley (undisclosed) has been banged up with an undisclosed injury during voluntary organized team activities. The new coaching staff has a vision for what role Corley can play in the offense, but it will be hard to carry out those plans until he can get back onto the field, according to head coach Aaron Glenn. The 23-year-old was taken in the third round (65th overall) last year out of Western Kentucky, but he had a minimal role in his first year in the NFL, catching three of six targets for just 16 yards in nine games played (one start). There's opportunity for Corley and others to have bigger roles this year behind WR1 Garrett Wilson, but Corley will need to get healthy first in what is expected to be a run-first offense under Glenn. For now, Corley is off the fantasy radar in standard 12-team fantasy leagues.

    From RotoBaller

Mason Taylor Jun 9 11:30am CT
    Mason Taylor

The Athletic's Zack Rosenblatt reports that New York Jets rookie second-round tight end Mason Taylor is starting to make waves during offseason workouts and looks like the tight end most ready to make an impact in the passing game for the Jets. However, if he's going to be on the field more than the team's other TEs, Rosenblatt thinks he needs to show more as a blocker. "I think he's been doing an outstanding job," head coach Aaron Glenn said. "It's not just the pass-catching that's what you guys see. But it's the blocking that really gets me going." The 21-year-old was a three-year starter in the SEC and could make an immediate impact for the Jets and fantasy managers as a starter sooner than later in his rookie season. Taylor has a real opportunity to see significant targets behind receiver Garrett Wilson, although New York's offense could lean on the ground game.
