Carolina Panthers wide receiver Hunter Renfrow was active on Sunday, hauling in seven of his nine targets for 48 receiving yards and two touchdowns. With the Panthers being down 27-9 heading into the fourth quarter, the game flow was undoubtedly in favor of the Panthers' playmakers and quarterback Bryce Young, and they made the most of it, scoring three touchdowns in the second half. Both of Renfrow's scores were in the red zone, one from four yards out and the other from one yard out. With the departure of Adam Thielen to the Minnesota Vikings, Renfrow has stepped in to be the primary slot receiver for the Panthers. As long as the Panthers remain in a game script that forces them to throw 35-plus times a game, it should allow Renfrow to slide into the weekly WR3 conversation in PPR leagues. Next up for the Renfrow and the Panthers is a home game against the Atlanta Falcons.
From RotoBaller
New York Giants running back Cam Skattebo rushed for 45 yards on 11 rushing attempts and a touchdown while catching two of three targets for 14 yards in Sunday's 40-37 overtime loss to the Dallas Cowboys. Skattebo broke off a 24-year run in the fourth quarter, which was the longest run of the day for the Giants. He later punched it in for his first career touchdown. Skattebo outpaced Tyrone Tracy Jr. 11 to five in rushing attempts on Sunday and could have earned more touches with his great performance against Dallas. Skattebo will look to build on Sunday's performance in Week 3 against the Kansas City Chiefs. The Giants' rookie RB is only rostered in 58% of leagues and is worth picking up for fantasy teams needing help at running back.
From RotoBaller
Dynasty | Jets tight end Mason Taylor had one catch for five yards in a loss to the Bills. Dynasty Analysis: Taylor now has just two catches for 25 yards through two games. While a lot of the blame can be placed squarely on Justin Fields, Taylor just hasn't been much of a difference maker early on. He remains a good dynasty hold but the excitement surrounding him is starting to wane quickly.
Dynasty | 49ers quarterback Mac Jones completed 26-of-39 passes for 279 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions in a win against New Orleans. Dynasty Analysis: You have to take some of this with a grain of salt as New Orleans isn't exactly reminding anyone of the 1985 Bears but this was solid nonetheless. It's honestly starting like you can put just about anyone in this offense and find success, a true credit to Kyle Shanahan. Regardless, Jones was about as good as you could hope filling in for Brock Purdy. While he still remains pretty far off the long-term dynasty radar, perhaps he can do this a few more times and attempt to follow a Sam Darnold-like path back to relevance.
Dynasty | Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St, Brown had nine catches for 115 yards and three touchdowns in a blowout win over Chicago. Dynasty Analysis: And that should make him this week's fantasy MVP. Two late touchdowns iced the game for the Lions and turned what was a good day into an epic one in terms of fantasy points. Justin Jefferson and Ja'Marr Chase continue to get most of the attention but St. Brown is making a push to be the overall WR1 and possibly overall 1.01 in dynasty leagues.
Dynasty | Giants quarterback Russell Wilson completed 30-of-41 passes for 450 yards with three touchdowns and one interception in a heartbreaking loss to Dallas. Dynasty Analysis: The Giants let Russ cook and he nearly burned down the restaurant as he set a new career high in passing yards. His late interception was a killer but it's hard to blame him for this loss. Jaxson Dart did play a bit today but it seems that was because a pre-planned package was set for him. Wilson is still on a short leash but it would be stunning to see him benched after this one.
Dynasty | Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers had nine catches for 167 yards and two touchdowns in a loss to the Cowboys. Dynasty Analysis: The Cowboys came back and won this game but don't blame Nabers, who just owned the Dallas secondary all day. Russell Wilson had a career day and showed off his amazing deep ball accuracy - a perfect recipe to produce a monster game for Nabers. It really won't matter who plays quarterback for the G-Men at any point moving forward as Nabers has proven he's both quarterback and matchup-proof as a WR1.
Dynasty | Giants rookie running back Cam Skattebo had 45 rushing yards, two catches, 14 receiving yards and a touchdown in a loss to Dallas. Dynasty Analysis: Most importantly, Skattebo had 13 touches, Tyrone Tracy had nine and Devin Singletary had just two. In other words, Skattebo is looking like your new RB1 in New York. It's a bit of a surprise considering Tracy has been productive but Skattebo does provide a power the others just don't have. Skattebo is going to be a sketchy start moving forward but his arrow is pointing up.
Dynasty | Cowboys running back Javonte Williams had 97 rushing yards, six catches, 33 receiving yards and a touchdown in a win against the Giants. Dynasty Analysis: We all wondered if anyone would actually take over as the top back in Dallas this year and it seems that question has been answered. Williams is dominating backfield touches on a good offense and has a legitimate chance to win Fantasy Comeback Player of the Year should this continue. At this point, he should be in lineups considering he's scored three touchdowns in just two weeks and has effectively neutralized the values of both Miles Sanders and Jaydon Blue in the process.
Dynasty | Giants wide receiver Wan'Dale Robinson had eight catches for 142 yards and a touchdown in a loss to the Cowboys. Dynasty Analysis: Much of the attention is going to be focused on Russell Wilson and Malik Nabers but Robinson was also very good in this one. It's been a steady rise for Robinson over the past two years and it looks like this may just be the year he breaks through. He needs to be on benches for one more week but another solid game will likely change all of that.
Dynasty | Colts tight end Tyler Warren had four catches for 79 yards in a win against the Broncos. Dynasty Analysis: Warren has shown us he has not only a high ceiling but a high floor as well. He led the Colts in yards today and is quickly emerging as the best target for a resurgent Daniel Jones. While we are likely to see a few bumps in the road, Warren has more than justified the first round rookie pick managers used on him this Spring or Summer.
According to Jordan Schultz, Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow (toe) is slated to undergo surgery on his toe and is expected to miss at least the next three months. Burrow was lifted from Sunday's victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars due to this injury. Following the contest, Brurow was revealed to have suffered Grade 3 turf toe. Before exiting, the former first overall pick went 7-for-13 with 76 passing yards and a passing score. In relief, Jake Browning led the Bengals to the victory as he tallied 241 passing yards with three touchdowns (two rushing, one passing) and three interceptions. Given that Burrow is expected to remain sidelined through December, he is in serious danger of missing the remainder of the regular season. As a result, fantasy managers should expect Browning to serve as Cincinnati's QB1 for the foreseeable future. While Browning was able to lead the Bengals to the victory, managers should expect the team's offense to see their overall ceiling lowered without Burrow under center.
From RotoBaller
Atlanta Falcons WR Ray-Ray McCloud was targeted twice but did not have a reception against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 2.
From TheHuddle
Kansas City Chiefs WR JuJu Smith-Schuster had one reception for five yards during the team's Week 2 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. He was targeted three times.
From TheHuddle
Dynasty | Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow is feared to have a Grade 3 turf toe injury. Dynasty Analysis: If this is the case and surgery is needed, Burrow could miss the next three months. At that point, the season would be essentially over. It would be a brutal blow to the Bengals, who are off to an uncharacteristically fast start but they'd trade both their wins to have their quarterback the rest of the way. As for Burrow, this could potentially be the second year out of three where he misses significant time and that's going to send his ranking and ADP down after what was a career year in 2024.
New England Patriots running back Rhamondre Stevenson rushed for 54 yards on 11 carries during Sunday's Week 2 win over the Miami Dolphins. He also caught all five of his targets for an additional 88 yards through the air. The Patriots' offense ran through Stevenson in this divisional contest as he ultimately led the team in carries, rushing yards, targets, receptions, and receiving yards. Although there has been plenty of chatter about Stevenson eventually relinquishing his role to Tre'Veyon Henderson, that simply won't happen if he continues to play at a high level. Sunday's showing should only earn him more playing time going forward, so we expect him to fetch another 15-plus touches against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 3. Pittsburgh's defense hasn't been playing nearly as well as expected through the first two weeks of the season, allowing 145 scrimmage yards to Breece Hall in Week 1, followed by 118 scrimmage yards and a touchdown to Kenneth Walker III in Week 2. The Steelers should be considered a favorable matchup for Stevenson, who is suddenly back in the mid-range RB2 conversation after a terrific performance on the road.
From RotoBaller
Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young completed 35 of 55 pass attempts for 328 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception during Sunday's Week 2 contest against the Arizona Cardinals. He also took three sacks in the loss. While Young and the whole Panthers offense were slow to get going, they showed real signs of life in the fourth quarter and nearly pulled off an improbable comeback. The former No. 1 pick's three touchdowns are a testament to his ability to lead pass-heavy scoring drives and keep the Panthers competitive even when playing from behind. Both of these skills will serve him well going forward, as sportsbooks continue to set the Panthers as underdogs, indicating that Young will need to continue throwing the ball often and with success. Next week, he'll face the Atlanta Falcons, who dismantled J.J. McCarthy this week but allowed Baker Mayfield to throw for three touchdowns in Week 1. Young should rank as a mid-range QB2 heading into the divisional battle.
From RotoBaller
San Francisco 49ers quarterback Mac Jones completed 26 of his 39 pass attempts for 279 yards, three touchdowns, and zero interceptions during Sunday's Week 2 win over the New Orleans Saints. He also rushed for six yards and took three sacks. Jones made the start on Sunday with Brock Purdy (shoulder) sidelined, and he looked very comfortable and productive. The former first-round pick will remain the team's starter for the duration of Purdy's absence, which will likely last several weeks. While Jones isn't a long-term solution for fantasy managers, he presents an intriguing option on the waiver wire ahead of Week 3. Next Sunday, the 49ers are set to take on the Arizona Cardinals, who just allowed 328 yards and three touchdowns to Bryce Young. With NFL starting experience and a variety of weapons at his disposal, Jones should put together another solid game against the subpar Cardinals defense. He should rank just outside the top 12 fantasy quarterbacks heading into next week, making him a worthwhile fill-in for managers dealing with injuries or underwhelming quarterback play.
From RotoBaller
New Orleans Saints quarterback Spencer Rattler completed 25 of 34 pass attempts for 207 yards, three touchdowns, and zero interceptions during Sunday's Week 2 contest against the San Francisco 49ers. He also took three sacks and rushed for 14 yards. While Rattler finished with relatively modest passing yardage, his three touchdowns kept the Saints in the game against San Francisco and also resulted in a very solid fantasy performance. It's evident that New Orleans will be playing from behind in plenty of games this year, but Rattler is still able to play clean football and keep New Orleans competitive for a full 60 minutes. These two factors, along with his clearly demonstrated ability to throw for touchdowns, makes him a very intriguing waiver wire option. Fantasy managers dealing with injuries or underwhelming production at the quarterback position should feel inclined to place a claim or bid on Rattler, especially ahead of his Week 3 matchup against the Seattle Seahawks, who have allowed 421 passing yards and four total touchdowns to quarterbacks over the last two weeks combined.
From RotoBaller
Minnesota Vikings running back Aaron Jones (hamstring) exited during the second half of Sunday's Week 2 contest against the Atlanta Falcons and did not return. Minnesota officially listed him as questionable, but he did not return to the field after receiving that designation, nor did the team provide any more updates on his status. As a result, the veteran finished Week 2 with just five carries for 25 rushing yards, and he was unable to haul in his only target. Jordan Mason, who had already been eating into Jones' workload prior to his injury, took over as Minnesota's primary running back for the final quarter. Fantasy managers should closely monitor Jones' practice status during the upcoming week. He has seven days to get healthy before Minnesota takes on the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 3. If he's unable to suit up, Mason would have the lead-back role all to himself, ranking as a mid-range RB2 in fantasy football.
