For the second straight day of practice this week, San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy (toe) did not practice with the rest of the team, according to Cam Inman of the Bay Area News Group. However, Purdy was seen doing conditioning on a side field in cleats. While it's good to see Purdy doing something on a side field, a second straight DNP this week is making it likely that he is going to miss a second straight game and fourth of the season after aggravating his turf-toe injury in his return in Week 4. Fantasy managers shouldn't expect the 25-year-old to play in Week 6 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and it's possible he won't be ready for Week 7 against the Atlanta Falcons, either. Mac Jones (knee) has been playing at less than 100%, but he torched the Rams' defense in a win last Thursday night and looks set for his fourth start of the year on Sunday.
From RotoBaller
San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Ricky Pearsall (knee) did not practice with the rest of the team for the second straight day this week on Thursday, according to Cam Inman of the Bay Area News Group. Instead, Pearsall was doing conditioning on a side field with a support sleeve on his right leg. The 25-year-old second-year pass-catcher suffered a PCL injury in the Week 4 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars and was held out of the Week 5 win over the Los Angeles Rams last Thursday night. He has not given up hope yet of playing this Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but it's not looking good for his chances right now. The Niners also were without Jauan Jennings (ankle, ribs) a week ago, which led to Kendrick Bourne having a career day as quarterback Mac Jones' top target. Jennings has a better shot at returning this weekend, but if Pearsall misses another game, Bourne could be in line for another big day.

Dallas Cowboys OG Tyler Booker (ankle), DE Dante Fowler (illness), WR CeeDee Lamb (ankle), QB Joe Milton III (non-injury), WR Jonathan Mingo (knee), LB Jack Sanborn (concussion), RB Miles Sanders (ankle, knee) and WR KaVontae Turpin (foot) did not participate in practice Thursday, Oct. 9. CB DaRon Bland (shoulder), DE Jadeveon Clowney (hip), OT Ajani Cornelius (knee), CB Trevon Diggs (knee), DE James Houston (knee), DE Marshawn Kneeland (knee), OG Tyler Smith (knee), S Juanyeh Thomas (ankle) and S Donovan Wilson (elbow, knee) were limited during practice. CB Caelen Carson (knee), OT Tyler Guyton (concussion), LB Kenneth Murray (concussion) and DE Sam Williams (shoulder) fully participated in practice.
From TheHuddle
Detroit Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown (wrist) practiced in full on Thursday after missing the team's Wednesday practice due to a wrist injury. The 25-year-old appears to be trending towards being available to play in Week 6 against the Kansas City Chiefs. St. Brown is the unquestioned number one option in the passing game for Detroit with 35 catches for 407 yards and six touchdowns on 41 targets through five games this season. If things were to reverse course and St. Brown were to miss time, Lions wideouts Jameson Williams and Isaac TeSlaa would likely see an uptick in target share, as would tight end Sam LaPorta and running back Jahmyr Gibbs. Assuming St. Brown can play on Sunday, he profiles as a must-start fantasy wide receiver in Week 6 against Kansas City.
From RotoBaller
Cleveland Browns TE David Njoku (knee) fully participated in practice Thursday, Oct. 9.
Fantasy Spin: Njoku is coming off a productive Week 5 performance and seems to have a good connection with Dillon Gabriel. He should see a handful of targets this week against the Pittsburgh Steelers and can be a low-end No. 1 tight end in fantasy leagues.
From TheHuddle
Cleveland Browns S Damontae Kazee (illness) did not participate in practice Thursday, Oct. 9. WR Malachi Corley (groin), OT Jack Conklin (non-injury), DE Myles Garrett (ankle), DT Michael Hall Jr. (knee), DT Shelby Harris (knee) and OT KT Leveston (calf) were limited during practice. OG Joel Bitonio (non-injury), DT Maliek Collins (non-injury), S Grant Delpit (ankle), TE David Njoku (knee), C Ethan Pocic (neck), RB Raheim Sanders (ankle, knee) and CB Denzel Ward (hip) fully participated in practice.
From TheHuddle
Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Alec Pierce (concussion) practiced in full for the second straight day on Thursday. Pierce has missed each of the Colts' last two games due to a concussion, but it appears he's trending towards returning in Week 6 against the Arizona Cardinals. The 25-year-old has recorded nine catches for 171 yards on 13 targets in three games so far this season. If he were to miss additional time, Colts wideouts Ashton Dulin and Adonai Mitchell would likely see the majority of the team's WR3 snaps alongside Michael Pittman Jr. and Josh Downs. Assuming Pierce is good to go in Week 6, he profiles as a desperation boom/bust flex option for fantasy managers against Arizona.
From RotoBaller
Arizona Cardinals QB Kyler Murray (foot) and DE Darius Robinson (pectoral) did not participate in practice Thursday, Oct. 9. OG Evan Brown (hamstring), P Blake Gillikin (back), OG Will Hernandez (knee), CB Will Johnson (groin), WR Zay Jones (knee), CB Max Melton (hamstring), LB Cody Simon (knee), OT Jonah Williams (foot) and LB Mack Wilson (ankle) were limited during practice. OT Kelvin Beachum (non-injury) fully participated in practice.
From TheHuddle
Pittsburgh Steelers running back Jaylen Warren (knee) practiced in full for the second straight day on Thursday. The 26-year-old missed Pittsburgh's Week 4 matchup against the Minnesota Vikings due to a knee injury, but it appears the team's Week 5 bye served him well. The Steelers are currently prepping for a Week 6 matchup against the Cleveland Browns. Warren has recorded 274 yards from scrimmage and a touchdown on 54 total touches in three games this season. In Warren's absence in Week 4, Steelers running back Kenneth Gainwell had a monster game, scoring two touchdowns and recording 134 scrimmage yards. Gainwell's performance may lead to him stealing some touches away from Warren once Warren returns. If he's able to play, Warren profiles as a low-end RB2/high-end flex option for fantasy managers in Week 6 against Cleveland.
From RotoBaller
Washington Commanders WR Terry McLaurin (quadriceps), RB Chris Rodriguez Jr. (calf) and WR Deebo Samuel (heel) did not participate in practice Thursday, Oct. 9. TE John Bates (shoulder) and WR Noah Brown (groin, knee) were limited during practice. OG Samuel Cosmi (knee) and QB Jayden Daniels (knee) fully participated in practice.
From TheHuddle
Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Calvin Austin III (shoulder) did not practice for the second straight day on Thursday due to a shoulder injury. Austin III suffered the injury in Week 4, so it's not a great sign that it's still keeping him out of practice with Pittsburgh coming off a Week 5 bye. The 26-year-old has recorded 10 catches for 139 yards and two touchdowns on 17 targets in four games so far this season. If Austin III is unable to play in Week 6 against the Cleveland Browns, Steelers wideouts Roman Wilson, Ben Skowronek, and Scotty Miller could all see an uptick in snaps. However, the only Steelers wide receiver that should be on the radar of fantasy managers in Week 6 against Cleveland remains DK Metcalf.
From RotoBaller
Washington Commanders WR Noah Brown (groin, knee) was limited during practice Thursday, Oct. 9.
Fantasy Spin: Brown has missed several games because of his injuries but appears to have a chance to play in Week 6. He will see a few targets if he is active for the game but can be avoided in most fantasy leagues.
From TheHuddle
Buffalo Bills tight end Dalton Kincaid (oblique) was officially listed as limited on the team's Thursday injury report due to an oblique injury. The Bills will play the Atlanta Falcons in Week 6 on Monday night, so Kincaid has an extra day to recover this week. The 25-year-old has recorded 20 catches for 287 yards and three touchdowns on 24 targets through five games this season. If he were to miss time, Bills tight ends Dawson Knox and Jackson Hawes would both likely see an uptick in snaps. Assuming Kincaid can play on Monday, he profiles as a solid fantasy TE1 in Week 6 against Atlanta.
From RotoBaller
Detroit Lions CB Terrion Arnold (shoulder), LB Zach Cunningham (hamstring), OT Taylor Decker (shoulder), S Kerby Joseph (knee) and RB Sione Vaki (groin) did not participate in practice Thursday, Oct. 9. S Brian Branch (ankle), CB Avonte Maddox (hamstring), OT Giovanni Manu (knee) and WR Kalif Raymond (neck) were limited during practice. DT Alim McNeill (knee) and WR Amon-Ra St. Brown (wrist) fully participated in practice.
From TheHuddle
New Orleans Saints head coach Kellen Moore said that tight end/quarterback Taysom Hill has "been taking reps" at quarterback and is "definitely available to be a backup quarterback" to Saints starter Spencer Rattler. Hill famously played quarterback in college and started nine games under center for New Orleans across the 2020 and 2021 seasons. The 35-year-old completed a 19-yard pass in Week 5, his first game of 2025 after being activated off the physically unable to perform list. Hill is officially third on the Saints quarterback depth chart behind Rattler and rookie Tyler Shough. Most likely, Hill will see most of his touches as a rusher and receiver in a gadget role. Still, any significant playing time at quarterback would make Hill a must-start player in fantasy, as he would likely still be eligible at the tight end position in most league formats.
From RotoBaller
New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara (ankle) was back at practice on Thursday after suffering an ankle injury during the team's practice on Wednesday, according to ESPN's Katherine Terrell. Kamara was officially listed on the Wednesday injury report as limited, but it appears he's trending towards being fine for the team's Week 6 matchup against the New England Patriots. Kamara has recorded 360 yards from scrimmage and a touchdown on 90 total touches through five games this season. If he were to miss any time, Saints running back Kendre Miller would likely dominate backfield touches in New Orleans. Assuming Kamara will be good to go on Sunday, he profiles as a low-end fantasy RB2 in Week 6 against New England.
From RotoBaller
Detroit Lions WR Amon-Ra St. Brown (wrist) fully participated in practice Thursday, Oct. 9.
Fantasy Spin: St. Brown seems to be dealing with a minor injury and should see his normal workload against the Kansas City Chiefs. He continues to be one of the top receivers in the NFL and will be a must-start option in all fantasy leagues.
From TheHuddle
Carolina Panthers tight end Ja'Tavion Sanders (ankle) was a full participant in Thursday's practice, according to Joe Person of The Athletic. It was an upgrade over his practice status on Wednesday, when he was listed as limited. The 22-year-old has missed the last two games due to a right high-ankle sprain, but his full participation on Thursday suggests that he's trending toward a return on Sunday against the visiting Dallas Cowboys in Week 6. A Sanders return would mean no more TE2 streaming appeal for Tommy Tremble in deeper leagues. When healthy, Sanders is Carolina's top pass-catching option at tight end, but that has not made him a top-10 fantasy option at the position. In three games before his ankle injury, he had just 11 receptions for 92 yards and no touchdowns on 14 targets.
From RotoBaller
WR DK Metcalf (rest), CB Jalen Ramsey (hamstring), WR Calvin Austin (shoulder), and DT Cameron Heyward (rest) did not practice on Thursday, Oct. 9. WR Ben Skowronek (illness), CB Darius Slay (rest), CB Joey Porter Jr. (hamstring), RB Jaylen Warren (knee), LB Alex Highsmith (ankle), and LB T.J. Watt (rest) practiced in full.
From TheHuddle
Indianapolis Colts RB Tyler Goodson (groin), DL Grover Stewart (biceps), and CB Kenny Moore II (Achilles) did not practice on Thursday, Oct. 9. WR Alec Pierce (concussion), DE Tyquan Lewis (illness), OT Braden Smith (rest) practiced in full.
