Zach Ertz Mar 9 6:10am CT
    Zach Ertz

Veteran tight end Zach Ertz signed a one-year, $6.25 million contract with the Washington Commanders on Saturday. The deal includes up to $9 million in incentives. Ertz returns to the Commanders after a productive season in 2024 as quarterback Jayden Daniels' safety valve, owning 18% of Washington's target share. The three-time Pro Bowler caught 66 of 91 targets for 674 yards and seven touchdowns over 17 games. It was the first time since 2018 that Ertz played an entire season. With the emergence of Dyami Brown in the postseason and the Commanders trading for wide receiver Deebo Samuel Sr. in March, Ertz will have more competition for targets in 2025. Despite competing for targets with Terry McLaurin, Samuel, and Brown, Ertz remains a decent fantasy option at the tight end position. As Daniels' primary middle-of-the-field option, Ertz is a high-end TE2 heading into early best-ball drafts.

Xavier Worthy Mar 8 7:40pm CT
    Xavier Worthy

Williamson County authorities have declined to press charges against Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Xavier Worthy in lieu of his most recent arrest. The second-year wideout was recently arrested on a domestic assault charge, though he will not be charged, according to the Austin-American Statesman. Worthy culminated a solid rookie season with an impressive eight-catch, 157-yard, two-touchdown performance in the Super Bowl, acting as the sole source of KC's offense. However, he's already made negative waves in the offseason. For now, it appears he'll steer clear of any legal action. Still, there is a possibility of repercussions down the line. The Williamson County Sheriff's office says, "We will continue to evaluate the case. As is our practice with all declines, should you develop additional information ... our office will consider that information and may present the case at that time to a Williamson County Grand Jury." Presently, the 21-year-old is free and clear, but fantasy managers may want to consider this ordeal when selecting him in drafts in the coming months.

Lamar Jackson Mar 8 7:30pm CT
    Lamar Jackson

The Baltimore Ravens announced Saturday that they've agreed to terms with offensive tackle Ronnie Stanley on a three-year deal worth $60 million. Stanley, entering his tenth season in the league, joined the club as the No. 6 overall pick of the 2016 NFL Draft. The 30-year-old was among the most coveted free agents on the market before re-signing with the team that drafted him. Now, he'll continue to protect the blind side of quarterback Lamar Jackson as part of one of the NFL's top offenses. It's excellent news for Baltimore -- and Jackson -- as they'll continue to be a prominent source of fantasy output for the 2025 season. 2024 marked the first time in his nine-year career that he'd log an entire season's worth of games. Additionally, Stanley was named to his second Pro Bowl this past year.

Gus Edwards Mar 8 7:13pm CT
    Gus Edwards

Dynasty | The Chargers have released running back Gus Edwards. Dynasty Analysis: Edwards is best known for his magical 2023 season where he had 13 rushing touchdowns for Baltimore, but has been more of a "thunder" part of a platoon for the rest of his career. He should latch on with another team here in short order, but he seems like more of a roster clogger unless a starter ahead of him suffers a significant injury. At this point, he should remain on dynasty rosters, but his grasp on a roster spot is a little "iffy" given his free agent status.

    From Dynasty League Fantasy

Rashee Rice Mar 8 7:13pm CT
    Rashee Rice

Dynasty | Chiefs wide receiver Xavier Worthy was arrested on charges of domestic assault, though he wont' be charged with a crime. Dynasty Analysis: It's specifically a "family violence" charge that went along with impeding someone's ability to breathe. Or, in other words, this was not good. The Chiefs were already dealing with challenges off the field with Rashee Rice, but now there was this. Worthy was facing some serious allegations here and was also be dealing with an NFL suspension before news broke that he wouldn't be charged. There's a lot to unpack here and details are emerging, but Worthy's dynasty value is clearly in flux at the moment. On the plus side, it looks like he won't actually be charged with a crime.

    From Dynasty League Fantasy

Marquise Brown Mar 8 7:13pm CT
    Marquise Brown

Dynasty | The Chiefs have re-signed wide receiver Marquise Brown. Dynasty Analysis: Brown was supposed to be a real difference maker for the Chiefs, but ended up appearing in just two regular season games, posting a 9/91/0 line in the process as he battled injuries. He'll return next season as a player with high upside, but also one who has seemingly a pretty low floor. We'll see what the Chiefs do at the position later this off-season before really assigning a solid dynasty value to Brown, whose ADP has fallen dramatically over the span of the last year.

    From Dynasty League Fantasy

Tommy Tremble Mar 8 7:00pm CT
    Tommy Tremble

The Carolina Panthers are re-signing tight end Tommy Tremble to a two-year deal. Joe Person of The Athletic reported the news. Tremble spent the last four seasons with Carolina after being selected in the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft, though he never eclipsed 23 receptions or 234 yards -- figures he reached this past season in only 12 games. The 24-year-old acted as the Panthers' primary TE for most of the 2024 season but split time pretty evenly with then-rookie Ja'Tavion Sanders near the season's end. Carolina's offense ended last season on the up-swing. Still, uncertainty surrounding the Notre Dame product's role in the offense should cause fantasy managers pause before dumping a pick into him this offseason. Despite the potential upside of the Panthers' pass attack manned by an improving Bryce Young, Tremble is worth nothing more than a late-round best ball flyer at this point.

Derek Carr Mar 8 6:40pm CT
    Derek Carr

Per NFL Network's Mike Garafolo, the New Orleans Saints are expected to convert most of quarterback Derek Carr's 2025 compensation into a signing bonus for salary cap purposes. According to Garafolo, Carr is lined up to receive all $40 million owed to him. It's a sure sign that New Orleans intends to keep the veteran on as their full-time QB this coming season. The 33-year-old appeared in just ten contests in 2024 while dealing with abdomen and hand injuries and failed to toss more than 20 passing touchdowns for the first time since 2018. However, he'll return as the Saints' signal-caller for the third straight season. He's proven to be a viable QB2/streaming option in the right matchup. Still, the team will need to surround the Fresno State product with a more feasible arsenal of weapons for fantasy managers to comfortably slot him into their lineups every week.

Geno Smith Mar 8 6:13pm CT
    Geno Smith

Dynasty | The Seahawks have traded quarterback Geno Smith to the Raiders. Dynasty Analysis: The Raiders have sent a third round pick in exchange for Smith. It's a monumental move for the franchise as they attempt to solve their quarterback woes as the likes of Aidan O'Connell, Gardner Minshew and Desmond Ridder simply failed to elevate the team in any way last season. Smith will reunite with Head Coach Pete Carroll and should provide at least some stability to the franchise. Still, he's a likely QB2 who could have some QB1 games in him next season. As such, his dynasty value remains about the same, though the supporting cast in Las Vegas isn't very impressive.

    From Dynasty League Fantasy

Geno Smith Mar 8 6:13pm CT
    Geno Smith

Dynasty | The Seahawks are reportedly targeting Sam Darnold to replace Geno Smith. Dynasty Analysis: The Seahawks got a third round pick from Las Vegas in exchange for Smith and are now apparently looking ahead to the future. Darnold could be a relatively cheap option on a three-year deal as he clearly proved he's capable of running an NFL offense last season. Still, this could be a pretty big risk as he's only really had one good season in his NFL career. Regardless, Darnold is going to be an NFL starter next season in Seattle or elsewhere and has the ceiling of a QB1. Stay tuned as his future is in clear flux.

    From Dynasty League Fantasy

Aidan Hutchinson Mar 8 4:20pm CT
    Aidan Hutchinson

The Detroit Lions are re-signing defensive end Marcus Davenport to a one-year deal worth up to $4.75 million. Davenport signed a one-year contract with the team last offseason but only appeared in two games due to a tricep injury he sustained in Week 3 against the Arizona Cardinals. The 28-year-old is reportedly precisely what Detroit is looking for across from superstar pass-rusher Aidan Hutchinson. However, his most recent injury is the latest in a long list, as he's played in just six games over the prior two seasons. The former first-round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft is fast, physical, and violent as an edge-setter. Still, his propensity to miss time has hindered his ability to make an impact on the field.

    From RotoBaller

Kirk Cousins Mar 8 4:00pm CT
    Kirk Cousins

NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero reports that the Atlanta Falcons don't intend to release quarterback Kirk Cousins. The 36-year-old, who signed a four-year $180 million deal with the Falcons last offseason, had a lackluster year while recovering from a torn Achilles suffered in 2023. With Cousins' inconsistent play deteriorating in the back half of the season, the team eventually turned to rookie gunslinger Michael Penix after a stretch of four weeks in which the veteran racked up eight interceptions and no touchdowns. It's worth noting that the Michigan State alum plans to continue his career in 2025, whether that is with the Falcons or not. However, a no-trade clause in his contract adds an extra layer of difficulty to the situation. Currently, it appears Cousins could spend his fourteenth season in the league in a backup role. He won't be on the fantasy radar if that's the case.

    From RotoBaller

Greg Rousseau Mar 8 3:30pm CT
    Greg Rousseau

Per ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter, edge rusher Greg Rousseau has signed a four-year $80 million extension with the Buffalo Bills, including $54 million guaranteed. Rousseau, 24, was selected No. 30 overall in the 2021 draft and is coming off his best season as a pro. In 2024, the Miami product racked up 53 tackles, eight sacks, three forced fumbles, and one fumble recovered. Furthermore, by far, he played more snaps than any other defensive lineman for Buffalo last season and has missed only four contests due to injury in his four professional seasons. He'll continue to hold down the Bills' edge and will now be with the team through the 2028 season.

    From RotoBaller

Marquise Brown Mar 8 3:20pm CT
    Marquise Brown

According to NFL's Ian Rapoport, wide receiver Marquise Brown has re-signed with the Kansas City Chiefs. The one-year deal is worth up to $11 million. Brown spent 2024 with Kansas City but was hindered by a shoulder injury he sustained during the preseason. The 27-year-old would appear in just two regular season games with the team, combining for nine catches and 91 scoreless yards. He'd also compete in each of the Chiefs' three playoff contests, though he wouldn't match his brief regular season production. It's good news for KC, as the unknown surrounding fellow wideout Rashee Rice's recovery and potential legal fallout from a multi-vehicle accident last offseason is still up in the air. Additionally, it's unclear if Kansas City will bring back veteran WR DeAndre Hopkins, and second-year teammate Xavier Worthy could be subject to his own discipline after a recent domestic violence incident. Things are looking hairy for the Chiefs' pass-catchers, but Hollywood's presence should be an anchor in their wide receiver corps despite the other talent around him.

Mike Gesicki Mar 8 11:40am CT
    Mike Gesicki

The Cincinnati Bengals re-signed tight end Mike Gesicki to a three-year deal worth $25.5 million on Saturday, a source tells NFL Network's Mike Garafolo. Gesicki will make $12 million in the first year of the deal and will return to Cincy as their top pass-catching tight end. The 29-year-old broke out in his first year with the Bengals in 2024 with 65 receptions for 665 yards in 17 games, although he only found the end zone twice. The Bengals also have Tanner Hudson that they just re-signed this week, too, but Gesicki should once again function as the team's primary pass-catching TE after he was the third leading receiver last year behind receivers Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins. Gesicki should at least be in consideration as a low-end TE1 in fantasy in 2025, and he'd see an even bigger boost if the Bengals end up trading Higgins this offseason.

Tommy DeVito Mar 8 11:30am CT
    Tommy DeVito

The New York Giants officially re-signed quarterback Tommy DeVito on Saturday, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. As things currently stand early in the offseason, DeVito is the only signal-caller that the Giants have under contract. That will surely change, though, with most folks believing that the Giants will not only sign or trade for a veteran QB but also draft one in April. The G-Men have the third overall selection in the 2025 NFL draft, with some of the belief that they could be aggressive in a potential trade up to the No. 1 overall spot with the Tennessee Titans to take Miami's Cam Ward. The Seahawks' trade of Geno Smith to the Raiders on Friday now puts Sam Darnold potentially in play as a veteran option for New York to pursue. DeVito, 26, made a little noise in six starts for the Giants in 2023 but played in only three games (two starts) last year and threw for 257 yards with no TDs or picks. He'll be a backup in 2025.

Russell Wilson Mar 8 11:20am CT
    Russell Wilson

The Seattle Times' Bob Condotta writes that the Seattle Seahawks won't be pursuing Pittsburgh Steelers impending free-agent quarterback Russell Wilson despite trading Geno Smith to the Las Vegas Raiders on Friday. Apparently, Seattle has no interest in a reunion with Wilson. Their top target is expected to be Minnesota Vikings impending free-agent QB Sam Darnold, who had a career year in Minnesota in 2024 after signing on as a one-year bridge signal-caller last offseason. Most folks were connecting the dots and projecting that Wilson would land with old head coach Pete Carroll in Vegas with the Raiders, but that' also out the window now that they just traded for Smith. If Pittsburgh elects to re-sign the younger Justin Fields and let Wilson walk in free agency this offseason, his best bets could be the New York Giants or New York Jets.

    From RotoBaller

Russell Wilson Mar 8 11:20am CT
    Russell Wilson

The New York Giants are exploring several quarterback options this offseason, including future Hall of Famer Aaron Rodgers, and are also in on Pittsburgh Steelers impending free-agent QB Russell Wilson, per FOX Sports' Jordan Schultz. The Steelers continue to maintain open dialogue with both Wilson and Justin Fields, who is also a free agent, with the hopes of re-signing one of them. However, the common understanding around the league is that the Steelers prefer to keep Fields over Wilson, even though Wilson took over for Fields in 2024 and ended up starting 11 games. Wilson, a 10-time Pro Bowler, gave the Steelers offense a spark but finished the year on a five-game losing streak. The 36-year-old is nearing the end of his career and doesn't have much fantasy upside left in the tank, although he would be a nice match for receiver Malik Nabers, who had 1,204 yards and seven TDs in his rookie season in 2024.

    From RotoBaller

Sam Darnold Mar 8 11:10am CT
    Sam Darnold

Now that the Seattle Seahawks have opened up a quarterback destination by trading Geno Smith to the Las Vegas Raiders on Friday, quarterback Sam Darnold is not expected to re-sign with the Minnesota Vikings, sources tell NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. Minnesota is reportedly now focused on other options they've been pursuing in recent weeks, which include soon-to-be free-agent QB Aaron Rodgers and potentially re-signing Daniel Jones. The Vikings remain committed to last year's first-rounder, J.J. McCarthy (knee), as the future under center in Minnesota, but they want to have an insurance plan in case McCarthy isn't quite ready to take over the starting gig in 2025 after missing all of his rookie season due to a torn meniscus suffered in the preseason. Darnold had a career year in 2024 and could command a deal worth up to around $40 million per year on the open market.

    From RotoBaller

Sam Darnold Mar 8 11:10am CT
    Sam Darnold

The Seattle Times' Bob Condotta writes that Minnesota Vikings impending free-agent quarterback Sam Darnold is now an obvious target for the Seattle Seahawks in free agency this offseason after they traded Geno Smith to the Las Vegas Raiders on Friday. Darnold won't be the only QB that the Seahawks explore, but Condotta also says that they will not consider a reunion with Pittsburgh Steelers impending free-agent QB Russell Wilson. The Seahawks can begin discussing a potential deal with Darnold and his representatives as early as Monday, when the legal tampering period opens. The Vikings had been interested in re-signing Darnold after his career year in 2024, but now he's expected to go elsewhere. Although the former first-rounder looked terrible in the final two games of the year, he threw for 4,319 yards, 35 TDs and 12 interceptions in 17 regular-season games. A repeat of that performance is probably unlikely, especially if he's not back in Minnesota.
