San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Jauan Jennings (shoulder) was doing conditioning on a side field on Thursday and did not practice with the rest of the team, according to the Bay Area News Group's Cam Inman. Jennings injured his shoulder late in the Week 1 win over the Seattle Seahawks and never returned. The Niners sent Jennings for tests earlier this week, and it's not believed that he's dealing with anything serious. However, with two straight DNPs to begin the week, he's trending in the wrong direction to play in Week 2 against the New Orleans Saints unless he's able to practice on Friday. The 28-year-old should have a bigger role going forward with tight end George Kittle (hamstring) out three to five weeks, but he'll be a fade candidate in fantasy if he plays in Week 2 with backup quarterback Mac Jones expected to make the start. Jennings caught only two passes for 16 yards in the season opener.
From RotoBaller
San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey (calf) returned to practice on Thursday after being rested in the first practice of the week on Wednesday. It's unclear if McCaffrey was a full or limited participant, but he should be good to go for Week 2 against the New Orleans Saints as long as he doesn't suffer any sort of setback on Friday. The 29-year-old oft-injured RB popped up on last week's injury report on Thursday but proceeded to play in the Week 1 win over the Seattle Seahawks. CMC had a positive season opener after being the biggest fantasy bust in 2024 due to injuries, as he produced 142 scrimmage yards. He ran for 69 yards on 22 carries and also caught nine of his 10 targets for an additional 73 yards through the air. Quarterback Brock Purdy (toe) is not expected to play in Week 2, but McCaffrey should continue to be a target hog, especially with tight end George Kittle (hamstring) out three to five weeks. He's a must-start in all fantasy formats.
From RotoBaller
Atlanta Falcons wide receivers Drake London (shoulder) and Darnell Mooney (shoulder) were both listed as limited participants for the second straight day in practice on Thursday. London injured his shoulder in the fourth quarter of the Week 1 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, while Mooney was inactive for the season opener. It sounds like they could both be available on Sunday night against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 2, but they could draw questionable tags on Friday if they are unable to upgrade to full practices. Head coach Raheem Morris said earlier this week that he expects London to play this weekend, but it's not a guarantee. A questionable tag would make London, normally a must-start WR1, much more risky going into Sunday night. London was heavily involved in Week 1 before getting hurt, catching eight of 15 targets for 55 yards.
From RotoBaller
Las Vegas Raiders tight end Brock Bowers (knee) is not practicing on Thursday, according to Ryan McFadden of ESPN. Bowers took part in the walk-through portion of practice but didn't do any team drills and will go down as a DNP on the first injury report of Week 2 as the team begins preparing for the division-rival Los Angeles Chargers on Monday night. Bowers downplayed his knee injury after getting hurt in the season-opening win over the New England Patriots last Sunday, and the Raiders are holding out hope that he can return to practice on Thursday or Friday. However, the second-year TE is firmly up in the air to play in Week 2 as things currently stand, and fantasy managers need to have a backup plan in place. Bowers is a must-start TE in fantasy when he's active, but Michael Mayer could be a sneaky streamer against the Bolts on Monday if Bowers cannot get cleared to play.
From RotoBaller
Chicago Bears running back Roschon Johnson (foot) was limited in practice on Thursday with a foot injury, per Kevin Fishbain of The Athletic. Johnson did not play in the Bears' season opener against the Minnesota Vikings, and his status for Week 2 against the Detroit Lions is uncertain. D'Andre Swift was the only Chicago running back to record a rush attempt in Week 1, although Bears head coach Ben Johnson said earlier this week that he wants to get rookie back Kyle Monangai more touches going forward. Even if Roschon Johnson plays this week, he could be limited to an RB3 role on his own team. He should remain fantasy radars, but Swift managers should be aware that Johnson could vulture goal-line touches once he returns to the lineup.
From RotoBaller
Chicago Bears wide receiver DJ Moore (abdomen/groin) practiced in full for the second straight day on Thursday, per The Athletic's Kevin Fishbain. Moore took a nasty hit towards the end of Chicago's Week 1 loss to the Minnesota Vikings, but it appears he is trending towards playing in Week 2 against the Detroit Lions. Moore was out-targeted by second-year Bears wideout Rome Odunze in the team's season opener, but did earn three carries, which could be an indication of an expanded role in 2025. Moore profiles as a low-end fantasy WR2/high-end WR3 this week against the Lions.
From RotoBaller
Cleveland Browns rookie running back Quinshon Judkins was a full participant in the team's practice on Thursday, according to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network. Judkins missed practice on Wednesday due to a meeting with the NFL surrounding his offseason arrest on domestic violence allegations. Given that Judkins is practicing fully, it's possible he could make his NFL debut on Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens. The 21-year-old missed all of training camp, so Cleveland will likely bring him along slowly and have him split touches early on with fellow rookie back Dylan Sampson and veteran Jerome Ford. Judkins should not be started in fantasy even if he's active in Week 2, but he should be rostered in all league formats as a stash play.
From RotoBaller
New England Patriots wide receiver Kayshon Boutte (shoulder) was limited in practice for the second straight day on Thursday due to a shoulder injury. Boutte was a popular waiver-wire add in fantasy this week after his breakout Week 1, where he recorded six catches for 103 yards against the Las Vegas Raiders. The 23-year-old has a chance to establish himself as a starting outside receiver for New England this season as long as this shoulder injury does not limit his availability or effectiveness. Boutte's practice status on Friday is worth monitoring, as he will probably enter the weekend with a questionable tag if he is unable to practice in full.
From RotoBaller
The New York Giants have claimed wide receiver Xavier Gipson off waivers from the New York Jets, per NFL.com's Ian Rapoport. Gipson was released by the Jets after his costly special teams fumble played a big role in the team's Week 1 loss. With the Giants, Gipson should have a chance to battle wide receiver Gunner Olszewski for a role as a reserve slot receiver and primary special teamer. In 35 career NFL games, Gipson has recorded 27 receptions for 268 yards and one touchdown. He should remain off the radar of fantasy managers.
From RotoBaller
Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster finished second on the team in targets (five) in Week 1, hauling in five catches for 55 yards. With top Chiefs wideouts Xavier Worthy (shoulder) and Rashee Rice (suspension) both currently sidelined, Smith-Schuster could be a consistent feature in the team's passing game over the next few weeks. While the 28-year-old is not an explosive player, he has shown an ability to be a reliable short-area target, particularly when playing next to Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes. Because of his projectable floor as a target earner, Smith-Schuster could be a useful bench receiver in deep PPR-leagues while Kansas City is battling wide receiver injuries
From RotoBaller
Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio said on The Rich Eisen Show on Thursday that he thinks Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill could be this year's Davante Adams. Based on his contract alone, Florio doesn't think Hill will be with Miami next year, and if they continue to lose early in 2025, the incentive to move him will become even greater. After the Dolphins' Week 1 blowout loss to the Indianapolis Colts, Florio was told that both the Kansas City Chiefs and Pittsburgh Steelers were eyeing Hill. However, things have become more complicated after a report surfaced on Monday that Hill is being accused of domestic violence. A change of scenery might be best for Hill's declining fantasy value in a Dolphins offense that is no longer explosive, but it remains to be seen if it will actually happen. Returning to the Chiefs makes a lot of sense with Rashee Rice currently suspended and Xavier Worthy dealing with a dislocated shoulder.

Along with wide receiver Chris Godwin (ankle), Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive tackle Tristan Wirfs (knee) will practice on Thursday for the first time since having surgery on his knee in July, according to Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times. It's all part of their conditioning to hopefully play in a few weeks. The Bucs plan to have both Godwin and Wirfs practice twice this week, but they won't be active on Monday night to face the Houston Texans in Week 2. Wirfs, the team's starting left tackle when healthy, had arthroscopic surgery on his right knee during the summer and is expected to miss the first couple of games of the year. How much progress Wirfs can make this week and next week will determine if he'll be in play to make his season debut in Week 3 against the New York Jets. Charlie Heck should make another start at left tackle against Houston.UPDATE: Wirfs was officially limited on Thursday.
From RotoBaller
Miami Dolphins running back Jaylen Wright (knee) was back on the practice field on Thursday and was wearing a compression sleeve on his injured right leg, according to Alain Poupart of SI.com. This was the early portion of practice open to the media, so it's unclear if Wright was officially limited, but it's a good sign nonetheless after he missed the season-opening loss to the Indianapolis Colts. The 22-year-old had surgery on his right knee back in August and is expected to miss multiple weeks at the start of the 2025 campaign, so it would be wise to expect him to sit out in Week 2 in a divisional clash against the New England Patriots. If he's inactive again this weekend, Wright's next chance to play would be in Week 3 against the division-rival Buffalo Bills. Rookie Ollie Gordon II only had two carries for four yards as the RB2 behind De'Von Achane in Week 1.
From RotoBaller
Cleveland Browns rookie second-round running back Quinshon Judkins was seen running through drills in the early part of practice on Thursday, according to The Cleveland Plain Dealer's Mary Kay Cabot. It was Judkins' first practice since mandatory minicamp in June, before he was involved in a domestic-violence case that caused him to miss all of training camp and the preseason. The 21-year-old Ohio State product didn't sign his rookie deal with the Browns until last weekend, but now that he's under contract with the team and back at practice, it's possible he could make his NFL debut in Week 2 versus the division-rival Baltimore Ravens. Although Judkins won't be charged with a criminal offense, it's possible the NFL eventually hands him a multi-game suspension. Judkins should be stashed in all fantasy formats, but if he's active this Sunday, he won't be a realistic option for starting fantasy lineups just yet.
From RotoBaller
Baltimore Ravens tight end Isaiah Likely (foot) remains sidelined at practice on Thursday, according to Brian Wacker of The Baltimore Sun. It's Likely's second straight practice missed this week. He has yet to practice since having surgery to fix a fracture in his foot in late July and missed the Week 1 loss to the Buffalo Bills on Sunday night. The 25-year-old has one more day to get on the practice field on Friday, but as of right now, he's looking doubtful to make his 2025 debut on Sunday in Week 2 against the Cleveland Browns. Mark Andrews caught his only target for five yards on Sunday despite Baltimore putting up 40 points on offense. It doesn't make him extremely attractive in Week 2 for fantasy managers, but we'd expect him to have a bigger role if Likely misses another game, as expected.
From RotoBaller
New York Jets rookie tight end Mason Taylor (ankle) is back on the practice field on Thursday after he sat out of the team's first practice of the week on Wednesday, according to Rich Cimini of ESPN. Although Taylor's status for Week 2 against the division-rival Buffalo Bills could still be up in the air, his return to practice is a good sign. We'll have a better idea of his availability once we know if he was full or limited, but right now it looks as though he's trending toward being active on Sunday. The 21-year-old got off to a quiet start to his NFL career in the Week 1 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, catching just one pass, although it did go for a healthy 20-yard gain. Taylor has plenty of long-term upside, but early on, he's probably only a stash option in single-year, TE-premium leagues. For Week 2 against Buffalo, consider him a TE3.
From RotoBaller
The San Francisco 49ers will turn to quarterback Mac Jones in Week 2 as they face the New Orleans Saints, with Brock Purdy sidelined for the next two to five weeks. Jones, now in his fifth season, is tasked with keeping San Francisco on track while the team navigates key injuries. Expect the offense to continue leaning on Christian McCaffrey, while Ricky Pearsall and running back Brian Robinson Jr. provide additional support. Given the circumstances, the 49ers are likely to simplify the offense, prioritizing efficiency and ball control over explosive plays. While San Francisco's supporting cast provides Jones with enough weapons to stay competitive, fantasy managers should exercise caution before inserting him into lineups. For now, Jones profiles more as a wait-and-see option in deeper leagues.
From RotoBaller
Philadelphia Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert (knee) was once again absent from practice Thursday as he continues to deal with a knee sprain suffered in Week 1 against the Cowboys. Goedert was productive before the injury, catching all seven of his targets for 44 yards, but his Week 2 availability against the Chiefs is now in jeopardy. If Goedert is sidelined, the Eagles will likely turn to a combination of Grant Calcaterra and Kylen Granson. Calcaterra logged 59% of the offensive snaps in Week 1 and would be the top candidate to step in, while Granson saw action on 27% of plays. Fantasy managers should closely monitor Goedert's status, as his absence would lower the ceiling of Philadelphia's passing game.
From RotoBaller
Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Xavier Worthy (shoulder) is expected to practice in some capacity on Thursday, signaling progress in his recovery from a dislocated shoulder suffered in the season opener. The injury came during a collision with teammate Travis Kelce, ending a quiet debut where the second-year wideout failed to record a catch. While surgery was initially considered, the Chiefs opted for a non-surgical route to expedite Worthy's return. Limited practice participation is a promising step, and Kansas City remains optimistic about his role moving forward. Last season, Worthy flashed his big-play potential by posting 59 receptions, 638 yards, and six touchdowns. Once fully healthy, he is expected to play a prominent role in the offense alongside Kelce and Marquise Brown.
From RotoBaller
Baltimore Ravens tight end Mark Andrews is looking to bounce back in Week 2 after a disappointing opener against the Bills in which he recorded just one catch for five yards. While the box score was discouraging, the underlying usage tells a more positive story. Andrews logged 75% of Baltimore's offensive snaps and ran routes on 72% of Lamar Jackson's drop-backs, showing he remains a featured part of the passing game. Fantasy managers shouldn't overreact to the slow start, especially with a matchup against the Browns on deck. Cleveland allowed five receptions for 40 yards to Bengals tight ends in Week 1, and their aggressive pass rush led by Myles Garrett could force Lamar Jackson into more quick throws. That bodes well for Andrews' involvement.
