Sam Darnold Oct 5 9:10pm ET
    Sam Darnold

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold completed 28 of 34 pass attempts for 341 yards, four touchdowns, and one interception during Sunday's Week 5 loss against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He was not sacked in the contest. Darnold essentially played mistake-free football for the first 59 minutes, keeping the underdog Seahawks in the game until the very end. Along the way, he turned in one of the week's best fantasy performances, which was a refreshing development since he hadn't exceeded 21 fantasy points in a single game through the first four weeks. Unfortunately for Darnold and the Seahawks, the veteran quarterback threw an interception with 58 seconds left, setting up a game-winning field goal for Tampa Bay. Seattle lost, but Darnold proved that he can perform against an above-average defense. He'll rank as a mid-range QB2 for Week 6 against Jacksonville.

Baker Mayfield Oct 5 9:10pm ET
    Baker Mayfield

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield completed 29 of 33 pass attempts for 379 yards, two touchdowns, and zero interceptions during Sunday's Week 5 win over the Seattle Seahawks. He also took one sack and rushed for 15 yards. Mayfield played clean, turnover-free football while maintaining a terrific 87.9 percent completion rate and leading his Bucs to a win. The 30-year-old has been a top-10 fantasy quarterback once again this season, posting 18+ fantasy points in all five games so far, as well as 23+ fantasy points in three of five. He should continue to be started in all fantasy leagues ahead of next week's game against the San Francisco 49ers.

    Ja'Marr Chase Oct 5 8:40pm ET
    Ja'Marr Chase

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase caught six of his 10 targets for 110 yards and two touchdowns during Sunday's Week 5 loss to the Detroit Lions. For the first time since Week 2, when Joe Burrow (toe) went down, Chase posted double-digit fantasy points and found the end zone. His big performance was partly aided by a negative game script and some garbage time production, but it's also worth noting that he solidified his rapport with quarterback Jake Browning on Sunday. Don't be surprised if the two continue to demonstrate a solid connection in future games. Chase is a low-end fantasy WR1 heading into Week 6 against Green Bay.

David Montgomery Oct 5 8:23pm ET
    David Montgomery

Detroit Lions RB David Montgomery rushed 18 times for 65 yards and a touchdown, threw a three-yard touchdown pass and caught a six-yard pass in a 37-24 win over the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 5.

Fantasy Spin: Montgomery's yardage totals have been hit and miss through the first five weeks, but he has five total touchdowns and has logged 12-plus touches four times. Meanwhile, Detroit has scored 34 or more points in four straight games, so it appears that this offense can still support two fantasy starters at the running back spot.

Emeka Egbuka Oct 5 8:20pm ET
    Emeka Egbuka

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Emeka Egbuka caught all seven of his targets for 163 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's Week 5 win over the Seattle Seahawks. The 22-year-old posted the highest reception and yardage totals of his young career, and he also scored his fifth touchdown in as many games. Egbuka has shown that he can handle matchups against opposing defenses' best cornerbacks, and he has established himself as Baker Mayfield's favorite target over players like Chris Godwin and Cade Otton. Egbuka should be deployed as a mid-range WR1 in fantasy football going forward. He has achieved must-start status and remains a fantasy staple regardless of his matchup. Look for him to dominate once again next week against the San Francisco 49ers.

Calvin Ridley Oct 5 8:13pm ET
    Calvin Ridley

Tennessee Titans WR Calvin Ridley registered five receptions for 131 yards on 10 targets in Week 5 against the Arizona Cardinals.

Fantasy Spin: Ridley entered the day with 141 yards on 10 receptions in the first four games, so this was a very promising performance. Perhaps he and rookie QB Cam Ward are finally getting on the same page, and building rapport. For now, the 30-year-old receiver should still be treated as a WR4 or flex fantasy option, but he could fly up the rankings if Ward starts to show more improvement.

    From TheHuddle

Jared Goff Oct 5 8:13pm ET
    Jared Goff

Detroit Lions QB Jared Goff completed 19 of his 23 passes for 258 yards and three touchdowns in a 37-24 win over the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 5.

Fantasy Spin: While Goff's production can fluctuate from one game to the next, his performance against the Bengals was a reminder that he does typically exploit favorable matchups. Overall, Goff is a quality QB2 with QB1 upside against weaker opponents.

    From TheHuddle

Tua Tagovailoa Oct 5 7:50pm ET
    Tua Tagovailoa

Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa completed 27 of 36 pass attempts for 256 yards, three touchdowns, and zero interceptions during Sunday's Week 5 loss against the Carolina Panthers. He also rushed for five yards and took three sacks. Tagovailoa played well early in the game, pulling out to a 17-0 lead. However, Miami's offense eventually stalled and lost to the Panthers after a fourth quarter that saw three different lead changes. Fortunately for Tagovailoa's fantasy managers, his fantasy score doesn't factor in whether the Dolphins won or lost. As long as Miami is playing in close games or trailing, Tagovailoa will be passing a lot, which gives him plenty of fantasy upside going forward. He's a high-end QB2 in fantasy football heading into Week 6 against the Los Angeles Chargers.

    From RotoBaller

Omarion Hampton Oct 5 7:50pm ET
    Omarion Hampton

Los Angeles Chargers running back Omarion Hampton (left ankle) was seen wearing a walking boot following Sunday's Week 5 loss against the Washington Commanders. The rookie injured himself in the third quarter and was not able to return. He finished Week 5 with 12 carries for 44 rushing yards, as well as six catches for 26 receiving yards. The 22-year-old wasn't able to replicate his top-tier showings from the previous two weeks, but he still turned in a solid fantasy performance, largely thanks to his involvement in the passing game. Unfortunately, Hampton's status for Week 6 is already murky, and a walking boot typically isn't a good sign. Fantasy managers should monitor Hampton's practice participation throughout the week. If healthy, he'll rank as a low-end RB1 against the Miami Dolphins. If not, he'd be inactive while leaving Hassan Haskins and Kimani Vidal to split lead-back duties.

    From RotoBaller

Dallas Goedert Oct 5 7:43pm ET
    Dallas Goedert

Philadelphia Eagles TE Dallas Goedert registered three receptions for 19 yards and a touchdown on nine targets in Week 5 against the Denver Broncos.

Fantasy Spin: Goedert had the second-most targets, but the fifth-most receiving yards. Still, the TD was nice, and he remains a decent low-end TE1 in most fantasy leagues heading into Week 6 against the New York Giants on Thursday.

    From TheHuddle

Xavier Worthy Oct 5 7:40pm ET
    Xavier Worthy

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Xavier Worthy (shoulder, ankle) is expected to play against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 5 despite being listed as questionable, according to Matt Verderame of Sports Illustrated. The Chiefs made a late adjustment to their injury report that called Worthy's status into doubt just 24 hours before kickoff, but Verderame has reassured fantasy managers that "the expectation is [Worthy] will be okay." Nevertheless, given the timing of Monday Night Football, managers might want to add someone like JuJu Smith-Schuster or Tyquan Thornton, who can be seamlessly inserted into lineups if Worthy suffers a setback and can't play against the Jaguars.

    From RotoBaller

Saquon Barkley Oct 5 7:33pm ET
    Saquon Barkley

Philadelphia Eagles RB Saquon Barkley rushed six times for just 30 yards in Week 5 against the Denver Broncos, but he added three receptions for 58 yards and a touchdown on his three targets.

Fantasy Spin: Totaling just nine touches is a little disconcerting for fantasy managers, but Denver has a strong defense. The total scrimmage yardage and score was nice, salvaging what could have been a disastrous fantasy day. He'll look for more production in Week 6 on Thursday night against the New York Giants.

Omarion Hampton Oct 5 7:30pm ET
    Omarion Hampton

Los Angeles Chargers running back Omarion Hampton (left ankle) exited during the third quarter of Sunday's Week 5 contest against the Washington Commanders. The rookie was listed as questionable to return, but he never ended up getting back into the game. Fantasy managers should monitor his practice participation throughout the week. If healthy, he'll rank as a low-end RB1 against the Miami Dolphins.

    From RotoBaller

Xavier Worthy Oct 5 7:20pm ET
    Xavier Worthy

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Xavier Worthy (shoulder, ankle) is questionable to play against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Monday Night Football in Week 5. Although Worthy did not initially carry an injury designation into the weekend, the Chiefs have revised their injury report and are listing him as questionable just 24 hours before kickoff. This is something that fantasy managers should monitor, though there might not be a whole lot that you can do about it. 24 teams have already played games, which means the majority of rostered players are locked in fantasy leagues, making it difficult to change your lineup or add any players. Managers heavily invested in Worthy's availability should see if they can add a receiver like JuJu Smith-Schuster or Tyquan Thornton before the final two games of Week 5 kick off, in case he ends up being inactive.

Arden Key Oct 5 7:13pm ET
    Arden Key

Tennessee Titans LB Arden Key (thigh) left the Week 5 game against the Arizona Cardinals due to a thigh injury, and he is considered questionable to return.

    From TheHuddle

Evan Engram Oct 5 7:13pm ET
    Evan Engram

Denver Broncos TE Evan Engram finished with four catches for 33 yards and a touchdown on six targets in Week 5 against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Fantasy Spin: Engram scored his first touchdown since Oct. 27, 2024 as a member of the Jacksonville Jaguars. He has back-to-back games with four receptions, but he is still averaging just 31.0 receiving yards per game in the span. He needs to bump up his yardage totals before he is considered a must-start again in all PPR fantasy formats. He'll look to do just that in Week 6 against the New York Jets at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London.

    From TheHuddle

Justin Fields Oct 5 7:10pm ET
    Justin Fields

New York Jets quarterback Justin Fields completed 32 of 46 pass attempts for 283 yards, two touchdowns, and zero interceptions during Sunday's Week 5 loss to the Dallas Cowboys. He took five sacks but also rushed for 26 yards. Although the Jets are 0-5 this season, Fields has been quite productive from a fantasy perspective. In the three games where he has been fully healthy, Fields is averaging 28.2 fantasy points. He has seven total touchdowns and zero interceptions this year, though he also has two lost fumbles to his name. We've known about his rushing ability for quite some time, but we're also starting to see flashes of what he can do throwing the football -- even if it comes in garbage time. The Ohio State product is a mid-to-low fantasy QB1 for Week 6 against a strong Denver Broncos defense.

    From RotoBaller

Courtland Sutton Oct 5 6:53pm ET
    Courtland Sutton

Denver Broncos WR Courtland Sutton finished with eight receptions for a team-best 99 yards on 10 targets in Week 5 against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Fantasy Spin: Sutton saw his modest two-game touchdown streak come to a close, but he has five or more grabs and at least 81 yards in each of the pat three contests. He remains a bona fide WR1 in most fantasy leagues heading into Week 6 against the New York Jets at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London.

    From TheHuddle

Tip Reiman Oct 5 6:50pm ET
    Tip Reiman

Arizona Cardinals tight end Tip Reiman (right leg) was carted to the locker room during the second half of Sunday's Week 5 contest against the Tennessee Titans. He suffered the injury after failing to haul in his first and only target of the game. Given the urgency of the Cardinals' medical personnel to get the cart on the field for Reiman, this could be a very serious injury, and it's likely one that will keep him sidelined for the remainder of the contest. He has merely occupied a depth role in Arizona this season, catching just three passes for 18 yards. Elijah Higgins will step up as the No. 2 tight end behind Trey McBride.

    From RotoBaller

Brandin Cooks Oct 5 6:43pm ET
    Brandin Cooks

New Orleans Saints WR Brandin Cooks caught one pass for five yards against the New York Giants in Week 5. He was targeted one time during the game.
