RT Sports league year has rolled over and we are now in the 2026 season.  I have updated the BLB to reflect what everyone had before the rollover.  More importantly, since the league has rolled over GMs have the ability to use their extensions again.  That can be done on the forum, here is the link

Also, here are the rules to extensions as we do have a couple new GMs in the league

4.5 Contract Extensions

There are THREE (3) different ways that a GM may elect to extend the contract of a player at a cost of 50 blb each. Each team may use one of the two extension options once per season PRIOR to the end of the regular season (Week 17). They may extend a player's contract using the options listed below if they have the blb available to do so.

 

OPTION 1 (Roster Option)

*If this option is use teams CANNOT use OPTION 2

 

4.5a. General Contract Extension

Teams may add 1 contract year to any ONE player that is on their team PRIOR to the end of the TBL3 season (Week 17) at a cost of (50 blb).

 

OR

 

OPTION 2 (Trade & Waiver Option)

*If this option is use teams CANNOT use OPTION 1

 

4.5b. Trade Extension Option  

Teams may add 1 contract year to a any ONE player acquired by TRADE. This must take place at the time of the trade at a cost of (50 blb).   

4.5c. Waiver Wire (FREE AGENT) Extension Option

Teams may add 1 contract year to any ONE player acquired as a FREE AGENT. This must take place PRIOR to the end of the TBL3 season (Week 17) at a cost of (50 blb).

 

*While teams have the ability to use both the Trade and Waiver W

 

Just to be clear because I run into this situation a lot, you may only use option 1 or option 2 you do not get to use both.  Also, remember that if you use your extension option now you will not get another until the league rollsover to 2027.

 

Lastly, I would like to also open contract absolution which is described as this in the rulebook

4.6c. Contract Absolution (Offseason Window)

Teams may drop players with only one year remaining on their current contract prior to the start of the RFA session (deadline to be announced by TBL3 commissioner) without paying the blb buyout fee. These players will be added to the RFA pool.

Teams may not buyout player’s contracts with more than 1 year left on the remaining contract during absolution period.

TBL3 offseason festivities have officially begun!  I will be asking everyone to pay at least half their league fees before the RFA period this year as well.  All leaugue fees will be due before the draft as well.  There is a link for leaguesafe under my links on the TBL3 homepage if you would like to get a jump on the fees.
