Denver's three-time NBA MVP Nikola Jokic sustained a left knee injury as the Miami Heat defeated the visiting Nuggets 147-123 on Monday.
Jokic got hurt when teammate Spencer Jones accidentally trod on his left foot while being forced backwards by Jaime Jaquez Jr. under the Heat's basket near the end of the second quarter. Postgame, the Nuggets confirmed that Jokic would undergo an MRI on Tuesday.
The Serbian big man finished with 21 points, five rebounds and eight assists. Jamal Murray posted 20 points and 11 assists as Denver fell for the third time in four games.
Norman Powell scored 25 points for the Heat, while Nikola Jovic added 22 and Jaquez paired 20 points with 11 assists. Miami won its third straight game in a span of four days.
Warriors 120, Nets 107
Stephen Curry scored 27 points and Golden State recovered from a slow start to earn a victory over Brooklyn in New York.
Jimmy Butler added 21 points as the Warriors won for the fourth time in five games and rallied from an early 15-point deficit. They shot 53.2% from the floor.
Michael Porter Jr. scored 27 and rookie Egor Demin tied a career high with 23 as Brooklyn saw a three-game winning streak end.
Bucks 123, Hornets 113
Bobby Portis scored 25 points and Giannis Antetokounmpo added 24 to lead visiting Milwaukee to a victory over Charlotte.
Antetokounmpo added seven assists in just 25 minutes as he sees limited action while coming back from a calf strain. Myles Turner added 23 points and Kevin Porter Jr. scored 15 with 11 assists as the Bucks recorded consecutive wins for the first time since the end of October.
Brandon Miller led the Hornets with 31 points and eight rebounds, while LaMelo Ball scored 26 with seven assists. Charlotte lost Miles Bridges to a right ankle injury in the first quarter as the team saw its two-game win streak end.
Raptors 107, Magic 106
Reserve Jamal Shead scored a career-high 19 points as Toronto overcame a 21-point deficit to defeat visiting Orlando.
Brandon Ingram added 17 points for the Raptors, who have won two straight. Scottie Barnes had 13 points and 11 rebounds and made the decisive free throws with 1:27 to play.
Anthony Black scored 16 of his 27 points in the third quarter for the Magic, who opened a three-game road trip by taking their fifth loss in eight games. Paolo Banchero added 23 points, 10 assists and 15 rebounds.
Knicks 130, Pelicans 125
OG Anunoby scored the go-ahead basket on a dunk with 1:48 left for visiting New York, which overcame a 10-point third-quarter deficit to edge New Orleans.
Anunoby dribbled around Zion Williamson, drove into the lane past Derik Queen and delivered an emphatic one-handed dunk to give the Knicks a lead they never relinquished. He finished with 23 points and 11 rebounds, while Jalen Brunson (28 points, 10 assists) and Karl Anthony-Towns (12 points, 12 rebounds) each registered a double-double.
Williamson scored a season-high 32 points, while Saddiq Bey recorded 23 of his 26 points in the first quarter for the Pelicans.
Suns 115, Wizards 101
Dillon Brooks scored 26 points, Collin Gillespie added 25 points while sinking five 3-pointers and Phoenix beat host Washington to extend its winning streak to four games.
Devin Booker produced 22 points and Royce O'Neale scored all 15 of his points on five treys for the Suns, who at 19-13 are six games over .500 for the first time this season.
Rookie Tre Johnson had career highs of 24 points and five 3-pointers and CJ McCollum added 17 points for the Wizards, whose season-high two-game winning streak ended.
Rockets 126, Pacers 119
Kevin Durant scored a game-high 30 points and Amen Thompson and Jabari Smith Jr. combined for 41 as Houston claimed a win over visiting Indiana.
Durant added six rebounds and five assists, while Thompson (20 points, eight rebounds, seven assists) and Smith (21 points, 10 rebounds) shot a combined 14 for 25 from the floor. The Rockets lost Stevens Adams to a sprained right ankle.
Pascal Siakam scored 23 points to lead the Pacers, who scored 37 points off 19 Houston turnovers but lost their ninth game in a row.
Timberwolves 136, Bulls 101
Naz Reid scored a season-high 33 points and Anthony Edwards added 23 to lift Minnesota to a victory at Chicago.
The Timberwolves outscored the Bulls 81-51 after halftime and had six players in double figures to stop a two-game losing streak. Chicago lost its second straight on the heels of a five-game winning streak.
The Bulls' Coby White re-injured his right calf in the first quarter and didn't return, and Josh Giddey exited with a left hamstring injury in the third quarter. Nikola Vucevic paced Chicago with 23 points.
Thunder 140, Hawks 129
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 39 points on 15-of-24 shooting from the field while adding six assists, six rebounds and a pair of steals to lead Oklahoma City to a home victory over Atlanta.
Chet Holmgren contributed 24 points, nine rebounds and three blocks while Jalen Williams added 20 points to help the Thunder win their 24th consecutive regular-season game against Eastern Conference opponents.
Nickeil Alexander-Walker led the Hawks in scoring with 30 points, while Onyeka Okongwu added 26 points, 14 rebounds and six assists. Atlanta was missing Kristaps Porzingis (illness), Trae Young (right quad contusion) and Jalen Johnson (illness).
Cavaliers 113, Spurs 101
Jarrett Allen amassed 27 points and 10 rebounds and helped key a decisive fourth-quarter run as visiting Cleveland emerged with a win over San Antonio.
San Antonio led by a bucket heading into the final period but unraveled during a stretch when the Cavaliers turned a three-point deficit into a 101-89 lead with 5:05 left. Jaylon Tyson sank back-to-back 3-pointers early in the pivotal run while Darius Garland and Donovan Mitchell scored five points each.
Evan Mobley added 16 points for Cavaliers, who snapped a two-game losing streak. Garland racked up 15 points and 11 assists. Victor Wembanyama led the Spurs with 26 points and 14 rebounds.
Trail Blazers 125, Mavericks 122
Deni Avdija recorded 27 points, 11 assists and nine rebounds to help Portland notch a victory over visiting Dallas.
Caleb Love made the go-ahead free throws in the final minute, sank six 3-pointers and scored 24 points off the bench as Portland won its second straight game. Shaedon Sharpe also scored 24 points while Donovan Clingan added 18 points and 11 rebounds for the Trail Blazers.
Dallas' Klay Thompson had a 3-point bid to force overtime bounce off the rim just before time expired. Max Christie made five 3-pointers while scoring 25 points and Brandon Williams added 22 off the bench for the Mavericks, who lost for the fifth time in six games.
Utah Jazz guard/forward Ace Bailey (hip) has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Boston Celtics. A left hip flexor strain will keep him sidelined for a second consecutive contest. Bailey's absence from the lineup gave Brice Sensabaugh a starting spot on Saturday night against the San Antonio Spurs. He finished the game with nine points, four rebounds, and three assists, shooting 3-for-5 from downtown. Sensabaugh has a great touch from outside, and he could be more involved in the offense on Tuesday if Keyonte George (illness) doesn't shake off a questionable tag.
Utah Jazz forward/center Kevin Love (rest) won't play on Tuesday against the Boston Celtics. The veteran will be rested for a second straight game. Kyle Filipowski, Taylor Hendricks, and Cody Williams have more fantasy appeal with Love out of the lineup. Of the three players, Filipowski has had the most success on the court this season, though his recent performances have been underwhelming. In Saturday's win over the San Antonio Spurs, Filipowski had six points, three rebounds, six assists, two steals, and one block in 22 minutes.
Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic (knee) looks to have avoided a major injury, Vic Lombardi of Altitude TV reports. Jokic hurt his left knee in Monday's loss to the Miami Heat and exited the game after the first half. He is scheduled for an MRI on Tuesday. According to Lombardi, the team hopes that Jokic suffered only a bone bruise. A big injury to Jokic would have serious ramifications for Denver's season and many fantasy teams. He will probably still miss some time but won't be out long-term. The Nuggets were already down three starters on Monday night, as Christian Braun (ankle), Aaron Gordon (hamstring), and Cameron Johnson (knee) missed the game.
Memphis Grizzlies center Jock Landale (calf) is listed as questionable for Tuesday's meeting with the Philadelphia 76ers. He might be out for a third consecutive game due to a right calf strain. Christian Koloko has entered the rotation during Landale's absence, but his fantasy impact has been minimal. Jaren Jackson Jr. and Santi Aldama also get more work in the frontcourt with Landale out. On Tuesday, Memphis' big men could face a Philadelphia team that's without Joel Embiid (ankle), elevating their fantasy potential.
Memphis Grizzlies guard/forward Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (hamstring) won't play on Tuesday against the Philadelphia 76ers. He suffered a hamstring injury in Sunday's loss to the Washington Wizards, leaving the contest in the second quarter. You can't consider yourself a real Grizzlies player if you aren't hurt at one point during the season, and Caldwell-Pope will miss his first game of the campaign. The trio of Cedric Coward, Jaylen Wells, and GG Jackson II will probably absorb most of the 22 minutes per game Caldwell-Pope leaves behind.
Los Angeles Lakers forward Rui Hachimura (calf) won't suit up for Tuesday's matchup against the Detroit Pistons. He recently dealt with a groin issue, missing two games, and the Japanese forward is now bothered by a sore right calf. On Monday, Hachimura couldn't practice, and Tuesday's absence may not be his only one of the week. It appears likely that Jake LaRavia will start in Hachimura's place on Tuesday night. In previous starts this season, the Wake Forest product has notched 10.7 points, 5.9 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.7 steals per game. Jarred Vanderbilt and Dalton Knecht could also see extra action in the rotation.
Los Angeles Lakers center Jaxson Hayes (ankle) will be available to make his return to the lineup on Tuesday against the Detroit Pistons, as the team has not included him on the injury report. Last week, Hayes sat out two games due to a sore left ankle. On Monday, Hayes returned to practice and is ready to resume his duties as the backup center to Deandre Ayton, bumping Maxi Kleber down the depth chart. The Lakers' frontcourt has a tough matchup on Tuesday night against Jalen Duren and Isaiah Stewart.
Detroit Pistons guard/forward Caris LeVert (knee) is considered doubtful for Tuesday's contest against the Los Angeles Lakers. He has been dealing with a sore left knee for a while and couldn't complete Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Clippers, logging only 13 minutes. Jaden Ivey saw a season-high 29 minutes off the bench on Sunday, while Javonte Green could also pick up some of LeVert's minutes if he's ruled out on Tuesday night. Detroit has limited Ivey's workload since his return from a knee injury, but it looks like he could be ready to start logging his usual minutes. Last season, Ivey averaged 29.9 minutes per game during a career year. When fully healthy, Ivey offers good fantasy production, posting 17.6 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game in 2024-25.
Sacramento Kings forward Keegan Murray (calf) is listed as questionable for a meeting with the Los Angeles Clippers on Tuesday night. He may be forced to skip a third consecutive contest due to a right calf sprain. Following Murray's exit from the lineup, Keon Ellis has made back-to-back starts. He went for 21 points, three steals, and two blocks on Saturday against the Dallas Mavericks but cooled off quickly. In Sunday's loss to the Los Angeles Lakers, Ellis contributed only two points. Nique Clifford is also seeing increased opportunities in Murray's absence and appears to be a better fantasy option than Ellis.
Sacramento Kings center Drew Eubanks (thumb) will return to the lineup on Tuesday against the Los Angeles Clippers. The team has removed Eubanks from the injury report, indicating that he is ready for his first action since fracturing his left thumb on Dec. 11. The veteran will take Dylan Cardwell's spot in the lineup after he was reassigned to the G League. Eubanks works as a backup center in Sacramento and hasn't been a fantasy factor in 2025-26, despite Domantas Sabonis (knee) missing significant time.
Sacramento Kings guard/forward Zach LaVine (ankle) will be sidelined for a seventh consecutive game on Tuesday night against the Los Angeles Clippers. He has been out since Dec. 14 due to a sprained left ankle. LaVine's next chance to return will come on Thursday against the Boston Celtics. Without him in the lineup, Keon Ellis and Nique Clifford receive more playing opportunities. Despite being an afterthought for most of the season, Ellis has started in back-to-back contests. However, the 25-year-old has produced two very different performances and is far from a safe bet to fill the box score on Tuesday night.
Los Angeles Clippers forward/center John Collins (illness) is considered questionable for Tuesday's clash against the Sacramento Kings. He is battling an illness and recently missed his first game of the season. On Tuesday, the Clippers may have to do without Collins for a second consecutive game. With Collins sidelined, Nicolas Batum started in Sunday's win over the Detroit Pistons. The French veteran is likely to remain in the starting unit if Collins doesn't return. Batum had a solid but unspectacular performance on Sunday, finishing with 12 points, four rebounds, one assist, and one steal.
Magic's F Paolo Banchero recorded a triple-double, finishing with 23 points, 10 assists and 15 rebounds in a 106-107 loss to Toronto on Monday, Dec. 29.
Portland Trail Blazers forward Kris Murray (quadriceps) won't play on Monday against the Dallas Mavericks. He will exit the lineup due to a quadriceps contusion after logging 30 minutes in Sunday's win over the Boston Celtics. With Jerami Grant (Achilles) unavailable, Murray made his fifth consecutive start on Sunday. The team may now look to Sidy Cissoko to fill one of the starting forward spots, while Rayan Rupert is likely to receive increased minutes coming off the bench.
Portland Trail Blazers center Robert Williams III (knee) is active on Monday against the Dallas Mavericks. After sitting out the first leg of a back-to-back on Sunday against the Boston Celtics, he will resume his duties as the backup center. Yang Hansen and Duop Reath will drop down the depth chart. Williams has averaged 6.0 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks in 15.9 minutes this season. He may be a bit more productive on Monday night, as Dallas gives up the most points in the league to centers.
Miami Heat guard/forward Pelle Larsson (ankle) will not finish Monday's contest against the Denver Nuggets. He has been ruled out for the remainder of the game due to a right ankle sprain. The Swedish youngster sustained the injury early in the fourth quarter. With Bam Adebayo's return, Larsson dropped to the second unit on Monday, tallying three points and two rebounds before his premature exit. Simone Fontecchio may re-enter the regular rotation this week if Larsson misses additional time.
Chicago Bulls guard Coby White (calf) has been ruled out for the rest of Monday's matchup against the Minnesota Timberwolves. He exited the action in the first quarter with a right calf injury, playing only seven minutes. Jalen Smith was elevated to the starting lineup for the second half. White also dealt with calf problems earlier in the season. If he misses additional time, Kevin Huerter, Tre Jones, and Ayo Dosunmu must be ready for a heavier workload.
Chicago Bulls guard Josh Giddey (hamstring) will miss the rest of Monday's game against the Minnesota Timberwolves, the team announced. While Giddey was on the injury report with an ankle issue before the game, he exited the action with a hamstring problem in the third quarter. The Bulls also lost Coby White (calf) during the contest, leaving the team without its starting backcourt. Without Giddey, Tre Jones will operate as the primary ball-handler, while Kevin Huarter and Ayo Dosunmu will also help to fill the gap in the backcourt.
Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic (knee) has been ruled out for the rest of Monday's game against the Miami Heat, Sam Amick of The Athletic reports. Jokic injured his left knee late in the second quarter. He was on his way to another huge fantasy line, posting 21 points, five rebounds, and eight assists in 19 minutes. Jonas Valanciunas stepped in as the starting center for the second half, and his fantasy value could surge if Jokic misses additional time. Zeke Nnaji would also have a more prominent role in the rotation.
Dallas Mavericks forward/center Anthony Davis (adductor) has been ruled out for Monday night's action against the Portland Trail Blazers. The 10-time All-Star attended Monday morning's shootaround, but he won't be ready to play, with the team downgrading Davis' status from questionable to out. Daniel Gafford will likely keep his spot in the starting lineup, while Dwight Powell will provide cover at the center position on Monday night. This is a good matchup for Dallas' centers, as Portland gives up the sixth-most fantasy points in the league to the position.
