Wolves G Terrence Shannon Jr. (foot) out 2-4 weeks

Mon Jan 13 3:20pm ET
Field Level Media

Minnesota Timberwolves rookie guard Terrence Shannon Jr. is out 2-4 weeks with a foot injury, the team said Monday.

Shannon injured his right foot during a game with NBA G League affiliate Iowa on Saturday.

An MRI exam revealed a Grade 2 mid-foot sprain, and he will be re-evaluated in two weeks.

A 2024 first-round pick out of Illinois, Shannon has appeared in 10 games for Minnesota and has averaged 1.5 points in 4.5 minutes.

Player Notes
Jericho Sims Mon Jan 13 6:30pm

New York Knicks center Jericho Sims (back) will not play on Monday against Detroit. He was a late addition to the injury report and has been ruled out due to back spasms. Sims is way down in the pecking order at center, so his absence will not impact the Knicks, especially with Karl-Anthony Towns healthy and good to go. Towns has been out only three times this season, limiting Sims' role on the team. He has averaged 1.7 points and 3.6 rebounds in 11.6 minutes.

Malcolm Brogdon Mon Jan 13 6:20pm

Washington Wizards guard Malcolm Brogdon (foo) will miss a fifth straight game on Monday when the Wizards finish their back-to-back with a home game against the Timberwolves. Brogdon doesn't have a specific timetable to return, and while he has been absent, the Wizards have been able to give their younger options more work. Jared Butler has been stepping up as a key contributor in the second unit while Jordan Poole and Bub Carrington play plenty of minutes as the starters in the backcourt.

Torrey Craig Mon Jan 13 6:20pm

Chicago Bulls forward Torrey Craig (ankle) will miss at least two weeks before being re-evaluated. The Bulls have only had the versatile veteran forward for nine games this season, and he has been sidelined since December 30 with what was originally called a lower leg contusion. The team announced on Monday that he has been diagnosed with a right ankle sprain and will be out for at least two weeks. When available, Craig averaged just 6.9 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 0.6 assists in 12.3 minutes per contest. He has flashed some upside, including scoring 18 points in his most recent game. However, the Bulls will continue to make their rotation work without him, leaving more work for Matas Buzelis, Talen Horton-Tucker, and Julian Phillips.

Joel Embiid Mon Jan 13 6:10pm

Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid (foot) won't play on Tuesday night versus OKC. The veteran is averaging 24.4 points and 7.9 rebounds this season, a significant decline from the 2023-24 campaign. Even worse, he's only appeared in 13 games. At this point, fantasy managers are starting to lose hope about his long-term ability to remain healthy. With Andre Drummond (toe) also out versus the Thunder, Guerschon Yabusele, averaging 10.1 points and 6.4 rebounds in 16 starts this season, is worst starting in all fantasy formats.

Draymond Green Mon Jan 13 6:00pm

Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green (back, illness) has been downgraded to out for Monday's matchup with the Raptors. Green sat out Friday's game with a back injury and was originally expected to return on Monday along with Stephen Curry and Andrew Wiggins, who will be back. However, Green came down with an illness and missed shootaround before being ruled out. Without Draymond, Trayce Jackson-Davis is in a great spot, starting at center while Kyle Anderson and Andrew Wiggins will have to play most of the minutes at power forward with Jonathan Kuminga (ankle) still sidelined.

Immanuel Quickley Mon Jan 13 6:00pm

Toronto Raptors guard Immanuel Quickley (hip) was added to the injury report early in the day on Monday and was downgraded to out shortly before tip-off Monday night. The former Knick has been limited to just nine games this season due to multiple injuries, so any new injury is cause for concern. Without Quickley, Scottie Barnes will likely spend more time at point guard with Bruce Brown and Jamal Shead could also get expanded roles. Brown and Shead are strong DFS and streaming options with more work against the Warriors, while Barnes has a better chance of reaching his always-high ceiling.

Bam Adebayo Mon Jan 13 5:40pm

According to Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald, Miami Heat centerBam Adebayo(back) is questionable for Monday's matchup with the Los Angeles Clippers due to a lower back contusion. Chiang also reported that Adebayo plans on participating in warm ups with the intent to play. However, with the big man being added late to the injury report, there is a good chance he will be missing in action. Across 37 games, the 27-year-old is averaging 16.1 points, 9.8 rebounds, and 4.5 assists in 34.1 minutes per contest this season.

Immanuel Quickley Mon Jan 13 5:20pm

Vivek Jacob of the Raptors official site reports that guardImmanuel Quickley(hip) is questionable for Monday's game against the Golden State Warriors due to left hip soreness. Fantasy managers should be aware that the 25-year-old was a late add-on to the injury report, and there's a good chance he will be unavailable for Monday's contest. Bruce BrownandJamal Shead will likely see an uptick in minutes if Quickley is sidelined.

Ja Morant Mon Jan 13 5:00pm

Michael Wallace of the Grizzlies' official site reports that Memphis Grizzlies guardJa Morant(illness) is questionable for Monday's game against the Houston Rockets due to an illness. Morant is a late add to the injury list, meaning he will likely not suit up. If the 25-year-old is sidelined, players like Luke Kennard and Scotty Pippen Jr. will likely take on extra minutes and see more scoring opportunities than usual.

Jalen Brunson Mon Jan 13 4:50pm

New York Knicks guardJalen Brunson(shoulder) is listed as questionable going into Monday's matchup with the Detroit Pistons due to right shoulder soreness. Brunson finished with 44 points, six assists, five rebounds, and one steal in Sunday's win over the Milwaukee Bucks. The 28-year-old briefly exited the contest after suffering a right shoulder injury, although he was able to return. If he's unable to suit up, for the second half of this back-to-back set, Miles McBride will likely take on an expanded role in the Knicks backcourt.

Anthony Davis Mon Jan 13 11:20am

Los Angeles Lakers center Anthony Davis (foot) remains on the injury report with plantar fasciitis but has been listed as probable for the team's first game in nearly a week. They've had their last few games postponed due to the wildfires in California, and it looks like they'll resume play in their home arena on Monday against the San Antonio Spurs. Davis has posted 26 double-doubles in 34 appearances this season and has recorded at least one block in 27 games. He remains one of the most valuable fantasy assets in the league.

Josh Richardson Mon Jan 13 11:10am

Miami Heat guard/forward Josh Richardson (heel) draws a doubtful status for Monday's game against the Los Angeles Clippers. He hasn't played since November 18 and has only appeared in eight games so far this season. The doubtful status seems to show that he's starting to trend in the right direction, but it's unclear how much more time he'll have to miss. With Jimmy Butler (suspended) also sidelined, Jamie Jaquez Jr. and Haywood Highsmith continue to start and deliver some valuable minutes along with Nikola Jovic.

Jeremy Sochan Mon Jan 13 11:10am

San Antonio Spurs forward Jeremy Sochan (back) has been tagged as questionable for their Monday night contest against the Los Angeles Lakers. The former ninth-overall pick missed their last game due to lower back tightness, but that could be all the time he needed to come back to the court. The Spurs will likely take the time from shootaround to warm-ups to see if his back feels okay enough to play. If he's unable to suit up, Harrison Barnes, Julian Champagnie, and Keldon Johnson will see some extra minutes. Johnson was the best of the three in their last outing with 24 points, 11 rebounds, and one assist.

Bam Adebayo Mon Jan 13 11:00am

Miami Heat center Bam Adebayo (back) appeared on Monday's injury report with a lower back contusion but is considered available for their game against the Los Angeles Clippers. The star center hasn't missed a game yet this season, so it seems to be more of a formality to list the nagging injury. Through 37 games this season, Adebayo averages 16.1 points, 9.8 rebounds, 4.6 assists, 1.5 steals, and 2.1 turnovers per game with shooting splits of .456/.287/.716. Despite the fact that his rebounding, scoring, and efficiency numbers are all down from last season, Adebayo is still a top fantasy big man whenever healthy.

Jay Huff Mon Jan 13 10:50am

Memphis Grizzlies center Jay Huff (knee) is dealing with some knee soreness but has been listed as probable for Monday's matchup with the Houston Rockets. After bouncing around the G League and the NBA for his first three seasons, Huff has caught on to a solid backup role in Memphis. The big man averages 8.8 points, 2.5 rebounds, 1.1 blocks, and 1.6 threes across 14.9 minutes per contest. He's an above-average option for fantasy managers looking for some added blocks and threes in deeper leagues.

Marcus Smart Mon Jan 13 10:40am

Memphis Grizzlies guard Marcus Smart (finger) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Houston Rockets while he continues to deal with a right index finger injury. The 30-year-old hasn't played since December 21, and there hasn't been an official word on when he'll return to the floor. Scottie Pippen Jr. remains a great streaming option, especially in deeper leagues. The third-year guard is averaging 10.5 points, 4.8 assists, 3.4 rebounds, 1.2 steals, and 1.2 threes across 22.4 minutes per game while starting in 16 of his 39 appearances.

Jalen Brunson Mon Jan 13 1:00am

New York Knicks' G Jalen Brunson scored 44 points on 16-of-26 shooting in a 140-106 win over the Bucks on Sunday, Jan. 12.

LeBron James Sun Jan 12 9:50pm

Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James (foot) is probable heading into Monday's matchup with the Spurs. The unfortunate situation in Los Angeles surrounding the wildfires has resulted in the team postponing their last two contests. However, despite not playing a game in nearly a week, the multi-time All-Star remains on the injury report because of a foot issue. That likely won't change anytime soon, although fantasy managers are used to it at this point. James continues to play well, averaging 23.8 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 7.7 assists while shooting 38.6% from behind the arc. Yet, he struggled offensively in two meetings with the Spurs during the 2024-25 campaign, logging only 15.5 points per contest, so he may not be the most practical DFS option, considering his rostering cost.

Tari Eason Sun Jan 12 7:20pm

Houston Rockets forward Tari Eason (lower leg) is listed as doubtful for Monday's game against Memphis. The 23-year-old hasn't played since Dec. 14 and is not expected to return to the lineup on Monday as Eason continues to manage a left lower leg injury. Cam Whitmore and Jae'Sean Tate have enjoyed expanded roles during Eason's absence. As a talented scorer, Whitmore has more fantasy appeal, but he tends to blow hot and cold.

Kyle Filipowski Sun Jan 12 7:10pm

Utah Jazz forward/center Kyle Filipowski (ankle) is good to go for Sunday's contest against Brooklyn. He was initially regarded as questionable for the game due to an ankle sprain. Utah won't have many big bodies in the lineup on Sunday, so the stage is set for Filipowski to enjoy a productive outing. However, his recent form hasn't been promising. Filipowski has averaged 4.8 points and 6.2 rebounds with below 40 percent shooting this month. In Saturday's matchup against Phoenix, he settled for only four points and two rebounds on 2-for-8 shooting in 22 minutes.
