Sacramento Kings forward Doug McDermott (illness) will not play in Wednesday's contest against the Philadelphia 76ers. The veteran sharpshooter was a late addition to the injury report with an illness. McDermott's absence takes away a three-point threat from Sacramento, but he has played a minimal role in the rotation and shouldn't be a big miss. This also won't impact fantasy basketball. Following Wednesday night, the Kings will have a few off days, so McDermott could be back in game shape by the time Saturday's matchup against the Oklahoma City Thunder comes around.
Dallas Mavericks forward Naji Marshall (illness) will return to action on Wednesday against the New Orleans Pelicans. A bout with an illness has kept Marshall sidelined for four games. The former Pelican has played a significant role for the Mavericks in 2024-25, averaging 11.0 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 2.6 assists in 24.7 minutes. However, he will likely fall short of these numbers on Wednesday, as Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd has told the media that Marshall will be limited to 15 minutes.
New York Knicks guard/forward Josh Hart (knee) will remain in the lineup on Wednesday against the Denver Nuggets. He has been carrying a questionable tag lately due to a sore right knee, but Hart has played through the injury and will do so again on Wednesday. The gritty veteran has sat out just one game all season. Hart capped off last week with a triple-double and has been a walking double-double throughout January, averaging 12.7 points and 12.5 rebounds.
New Orleans Pelicans guard Dejounte Murray (elbow, finger) will play against the Dallas Mavericks Wednesday night. Murray is currently dealing with an elbow issue and has sprained his right index finger, but the team has upgraded him from probable to available. Murray is in the midst of a strong five-game stretch, which started with a 30-point outing against the Mavericks. Over these five games, he has averaged 22.2 points, 6.8 rebounds, 7.8 assists, and 1.8 steals.
Toronto Raptors forward/center Kelly Olynyk (calf) has been downgraded from questionable to out for Wednesday's game against the Washington Wizards. He will miss a third straight game due to a right calf strain. Olynyk's next chance to return will be on Friday against the Chicago Bulls. On Wednesday, Orlando Robinson will continue to log minutes behind starting center Jakob Poeltl, with Chris Boucher potentially also receiving extra work.
Boston Celtics forward/centerAl Horford(toe) is unavailable for Wednesday's contest against the Chicago Bulls. The veteran big man is dealing with a toe sprain and will miss his second consecutive contest. Horford was cleared to play on Monday against the Houston Rockets but was a late scratch. Luke Kornetstarted in place of Horford and finished with 18 points, seven rebounds, and one block. Derrick White(shin) is returning to the lineup, so Kornet might not start this evening.
The Boston Celtics announced forwardSam Hauser(hip) is unavailable for Wednesday's matchup with the Chicago Bulls. Hauser will be missing in action for the second straight game due to a right hip impingement. While Hauser is sidelined, Payton Pritchardwill have an expanded role coming off the bench. Pritchard posted 15 points, four rebounds, three assists and one steal across 31 minutes in Monday's 114-112 loss to the Rockets. He went 5-for-6 from three-point land in the contest. Chicago gives up the third-most three-point attempts in the league, making this an excellent opportunity for the 27-year-old sharpshooter.
Toronto Raptors guard/forward Gradey Dick (illness) will not take the court against the Washington Wizards on Wednesday. Dick has heated up lately but will need to step aside for at least one game due to an illness. Bruce Brown and Ochai Agbaji will take care of most of Dick's minutes against the Wizards. Agbaji will start the game, but Brown has been in better form recently. The versatile veteran has averaged 14.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 1.2 steals over the past five games.
Indiana Pacers guard/forward Bennedict Mathurin (illness) will not play in Wednesday's contest against the Detroit Pistons. He was added late to the injury report with an illness, and Mathurin is forced to miss his second game of the season. Players like Aaron Nesmith, Jarace Walker, and Ben Sheppard should share Mathurin's minutes on Wednesday. However, none of the trio stands out as a good source of fantasy value.
Indiana Pacers guard Andrew Nembhard (back) has been ruled out for Wednesday's tilt against the Detroit Pistons. He is forced to come out of the lineup due to a back problem. T.J. McConnell, Ben Sheppard, and Johnny Furphy have an opportunity to get more playing time in the backcourt with Nembhard out. McConnell, who averages 10.1 points and 4.5 assists for the season, stands out as the best fantasy option among these three players.
According toTomer Azarly of ClutchPoints.com, Los Angeles Clippers guardKris Dunn(knee) will be unavailable on Wednesday against the San Antonio Spurs. Dunn will miss his fifth straight game due to left knee injury management. During this year's campaign, the 30-year-old has been a key contributor in the second unit for the Clippers, averaging over 22 minutes per game and providing 6.0 points, 3.2 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 1.5 steals per contest. Until Dunn returns, Kevin Porter Jr.,Terance Mann, andAmir Coffey will continue to see expanded roles.
Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Darius Garland (rest) will not face the Miami Heat on Wednesday. The team will rest him for the first leg of a back-to-back. Ty Jerome could be elevated to the starting lineup as Garland's replacement. Jerome has finished with 20-plus points in each of his two prior starts this season. Max Strus may get additional offensive touches with Garland out of the lineup, with Donovan Mitchell taking on more playmaking duties.
Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum (knee) will be active on Wednesday against the Chicago Bulls. He has been upgraded from questionable to available. Tatum will attempt to put together a bounce-back performance after finishing Monday's loss to the Houston Rockets with 19 points on 35.7 percent shooting. His last outing against the Bulls resulted in a 40-point triple-double, and Tatum has had success in the matchup throughout the season. He has notched 36.3 points, 13.0 rebounds, and 6.3 assists over three games against Chicago in 2024-25.
Washington Wizards point guardMalcolm Brogdon(foot) won't play on Wednesday versus the Toronto Raptors. Brogdon will now miss his 12th straight game because of a right-foot plantar fascia contusion. Carlton Carrington andKyshawn Georgewill see more work due to his ongoing absence. Washington hasn't given a clear timetable for Brogdon's return. This season, the 32-year-old has averaged 13.8 points, 4.1 rebounds and 3.9 assists across 18 games.
Los Angeles Lakers forward/center Anthony Davis (abdomen) will be sidelined for at least a week due to an abdominal muscle strain. He sustained the injury during Tuesday's game against the Philadelphia 76ers. The team plans to re-evaluate Davis in approximately one week, meaning he will be unavailable for at least three games, starting with Thursday's contest against the Washington Wizards. The Lakers' reserve bigs Jaxson Hayes and Christian Koloko will likely take on heavier workloads during Davis' absence, with Jarred Vanderbilt and Dorian Finney-Smith potentially also seeing more action.
Chicago Bulls guard Coby White (ankle) has been cleared to play in Wednesday's matchup against the Boston Celtics. He makes a surprising return, as Bulls head coach Billy Donovan suggested on Monday that White will not be available for the game. The explosive guard has been nursing an ankle problem and has been sidelined for four games. White returns at a very good time for the Bulls because Zach LaVine (personal) has dropped out of the lineup. He should get extra offensive usage on Wednesday, although White's prior efforts against the Celtics have not gone well. The defending champions have limited him to 12.3 points on 33.3 percent shooting in three contests this season.
The Charlotte Hornets announced forwardCody Martin(abdomen) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Brooklyn Nets. Martin will miss his third contest in a row due to a sports hernia injury. A timeline hasn't been set on when the 29-year-old veteran forward will return. In the meantime, Josh OkogieandDaQuan Jeffries will take extra minutes, especially this evening, with Josh Green(foot) also missing in action.
Charlotte Hornets forwardJosh Green (foot) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game versus the Brooklyn Nets. Green will be out for the first time since October 26th due to right foot soreness. The 24-year-old has averaged 7.4 points and 2.9 rebounds in 28.2 minutes per contest across 41 games. DaQuan Jeffries and Josh Okogie will likely have more minutes on the floor, with Cody Martin(abdomen) also sidelined. Green's next opportunity to suit up comes on Friday against the Clippers.
According to Shams Charania of ESPN, Atlanta Hawks forwardJalen Johnson(shoulder) will undergo season-ending surgery to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder and will miss the rest of the season. The 23-year-old was having the best season of his career, averaging 18.9 points, 10.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 1.0 blocks, and 1.6 steals before suffering the injury. Players likeKeaton Wallace, Vit Krejci, De'Andre Hunter and Bogdan Bogdanovic could also see a bump in fantasy production with Johnson out.
Toronto Raptors forward/center Kelly Olynyk (calf) is questionable for Wednesday's game against the Washington Wizards. He has missed a pair of games with right calf tightness. With Olynyk sidelined, Orlando Robinson has stepped into the backup center role. Chris Boucher is also in a position to benefit. He had one of his best games of the season with Olynyk out on Saturday against the Atlanta Hawks, scoring 23 points. Ahead of Wednesday's matchup, Boucher has finished with double-digit points in three consecutive games while averaging 3.7 rebounds over that span.
